Advice please - Time limit on frozen soup?
Hi
![]() As the title suggests, anyone got any advice on the time limit for frozen soup? It's home made butternut squash soup - all veggie - and put into freezer about 6 weeks ago. Usually I would defrost and eat within a month but this has been left longer. Do you think it is still safe to defrost and eat? Ta in advance for any info! |

I try to eat frozen soups within 3 months; but they do last longer than that if your freezer is good and you stored it in a good airtight container. Your soup will certainly be safe to eat after 6 weeks. Safety is not really the issue. Quality is the issue. The longer foods are frozen, the more likely it will experience freezer burn, off flavors and changes in texture.

'Quality' is what I was driving at - it's late and I couldn't think of the correct phrasing!
