Samsung Galaxy Portal
Thinking of upgrading to a new android mobile and have seen that t mobile have just got the Galaxy Portal from Samsung. Anyone got one or know if there any good?

Its not bad. Basically a simple android phone. Personally i prefer the lg in touch max which runs off android too but has slightly better camera and the slide out keypad. Only trouble with both is they run off android 1.6 so will not have bluetooth file transfer until either samsung or lg release the 2.0 update. Ive not heard anything saying they will do though.

i just got one and its great, battery life is excellent, cpu nice and fast.
the current os is 1.5 but an update to 2.1 is due very soon, i havent had any issues with mine bar the drivers not working with windows 7 64bit. (the camera isnt great in low light either. gps wifi etc work great. tmobile also is much better than i remember with a great contract as the coverage used to be aufull for me. 2yrs contract on £20 per month with free phone inc unlimited internet unlimited land line calls (you can choose other options) 300 mins and text. |

Has anyone managed to root this phone yet? I use apps2SD on my current phone but to use it you need the phone to be rooted.
