Aren't the marks supposed to be about what they do, rather than how much they've improved? Besides, they thought she did improve: in her performance. Last week was odd that way, since the routines seemed to be more about acting / performing than skating. I don't think it's very meaningful to compare them with earlier weeks.

I think several of them (perhaps including Hayley) aren't getting the best routines for developing and showing their skating. (Maybe this -- "jump week" -- will be different?)

The same should go for the choreographers. (And indeed in the Olympics, the skaters - and not the choreographers - are explicitly marked on choreography.)
Yet a cry regularly goes up that Hayley (it most often seems to be Hayley) shouldn't be blamed for something or other because it's down to the choreographers.
One difference, though, I suppose, is that the Olympic skaters pick their choreographer and presumably have some say over what goes in, while in DOI it seems they have to be slaves to whatever T&D decide or else the show will do its best to ensure they're voted out.
