Since we have yet another version doing very well for Florence & the Machine I thought I'd ask which of the many remixes and covers was your favourite?

(I did try and search to see if this had been done, but couldn't find another thread - apologies if someone else has already asked)

I kind of like the original Candi Staton The Source version with the killer baseline:

But my absolute favourite is the New Voyager mix which I think is an absolute classic and for some reason makes me feel quite emotional:

The 1991 chart Source/Candi Staton version. Everything else (including covers) sounds like a vocal track awkwardly plonked on top of a disparate arrangement (yes I know that version was a remix, but it's IMO the only one that seems 'natural').

I love both Candi Staton's original and Florence's cover. These are my favourites.

Joss Stone's version is a really good cover to be honest. It's on her Colour Me Free album. But i do prefer Florence's one. The one without Dizzee.

Can't beat the original in this case at least.

I agree Candi Staton's version is the best but I really think that Florence and The Machine's version is a really good one.

I liked Dizzee and Florence's version loads at the moment, but I think that's just because I haven't heard it 1000 times yet.

Big Florence and the Machine fan for oever a year but its got to be Cani Statton.

Florences Youve got the love is good but its my least favourite track off the album, simply because its a cover and shes so unique and excellent that she doesnt need to be doing them seeing as the other 12 tracks are all better than it.

Candi Staton's definitely. The version that was popular the first time that features at the end of Sex and the City. I didn't like the remake a few years later as much.

I know everyone's entitled to their own opinion but if you love Flo's version better than the original then wow that's all I can say. That's like a new version of The Godfather being released and loving that more Candi Staton and The Now Voyager remix is the best by far and I can't actually listen to it now without thinking of Carrie and the girls at the end of SATC

Candi Staton, but even that is annoying as the whole song is made by the bassline of the Knuckles/Jamie Principal classic, and even that was nicked

The original from 1986 is interesting - same great vocals but loads of funky slap bass and synth handclaps.

I can't remember which of the Voyager mixes it is, but my favourite is the one at the end of Sex and the City. That gives me goosebumps

Indeed.
Florence sings it very well but it just sounds better with Knuckles' music.

This is true ....

I'm torn as to which version I prefer - i alternate between the original and the Florence version.

Whats irritating to me is that its the only decent track on "Lungs". The rest is just a diabolical idiotic warbling.

For me it's Candi Staton/Source 1991 version followed by Florence's.

You've got the love is one of my favourites, I've been listening to this version recently by Charlie Law, it's so heartfelt! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCZ4lhWPhoE
