BT Vision beats Sky and Virgin in Which Customer Satisfaction Survey
Hi, just come across this article on a which survey which bt comes out on top ahead of virgin then sky
![]() http://www.productsandservices.bt.co...?topicId=28787 here is a paragraph in the article:- The survey in the January issue of Which? asked the magazine's online panel members to rate digital UK TV services on overall satisfaction and whether they would recommend the service to a friend – and BT Vision came out ahead at 63%, compared to Virgin Media's 55% and Sky's 53%. I personally dont really take much notice of surveys but thought as bt vision get battered by certain posters in here i would post this, mind you i will put my helmet on now and duck as i am sure certain posters will twist this to suit there agenda Just goes to show though that bt vision aint all bad and sky does not please everybody

surveys from Which are the only ones left to trust these days.
i always found it amusing when uSwitch would come out with surveys hammering a company. as far as i'm concerned you can't really trust a survey from a pricecomparison site that doesn't have the government acreditation... you could always tell who uSwitch were getting the most "sign up" money from by their survey results for customer satisfaction etc.... it is a good indicator of the improvement Vision has made since launch. other than the rare HDMI sound cut in/out (for 30secs) i have had a fantastic service. |

lies, damn lies and statistics......
need to know the context, questions, was price a question? how about premium sports? Did they take into account the broadband price/availability How about questions on HD content..? Back office support..? The link on the BT site seems to suggest that they asked mainly about On demand in which case BT had to win. Naturally, we're thrilled to beat Sky and Virgin. We've always thought BT Vision is the best way to get on-demand entertainment, Freeview, 80 hours' recording time and the best of last week's TV in one easy package – and it seems lots of other people think so too! what about survey size? Because of the massive disparity in customer bases, you would need to survey a huge chunk of BT customers compared to a small number of Sky ones. could be good news for BT but until there is more flesh on the bones of the stats then i would be disinclined to take it seriously, especially when its BT's spin on it too. |

You have to consider that this was a survey of "Which?" readers. I would speculate that the demographic is older, cautious people who consider purchases very carefully, possibly because they are short of cash?
Is this demographic the sort of audience that buys Sky or Cable? Or is it one of cautious people who stick with the phone company they have known for the last 40 or 50 years? |

Have to agree totally with the survey after switching from SkyHD to BTVision. BTVision is better than SkyHD, be interesting when they get Sky Sports this summer and undercut Sky.

It should be about value, not lets have the rights to just about everything then charge top whack. it'll come Matterhorn, because sky can't rule everything! |

Once again you show you have no idea.. thanks for the compliment though.. high class view? Absolutely. I agree 100% about value. thats why I switched to Sky. You seem to wrongly think price=value. It doesn't. Its spurious anyway as BT actually costs more, like for like. there is very little value in any of BT's services. Sky don't rule everything, they operate in the market and millions of people... for every 1 that chooses BTV, 20 choose Sky..and thats being generous to BT! on the premium sport thing. ALL the major rights holders have already said they will go to court over it, so even if Ofcom (jokers) say it should happen it'll be through the courts for years. |

Some people are a bit THICK, when they cannot realise that Sky has been around far longer than BTVision.
I also cannot understand why someone is happy to pay a higher price for something, ie Sky Sports, when others such as Virgin and BT want it lowered. Just seems how stupid people are, that they would rather pay £18 for sport rather than £12. Yet again RIP off Sky. |

I'd rather pay 10% tax than 40% but I can't. There is a bigger picture to all this that not surprisingly you can't see.

I don't hate BT or love Sky. One is much better than the others when it comes to TV at least, as millions of subscribers now attest. I want to watch a extra bit of T.v, but I want to watch it when I want, not when someone else wants to, so what would be best for me? I have no interest in sports, apart from motor racing and want to pay as little as possible. Just a scenario as I am not going to get pay t.V, well not yet anyway. |

(BT bronze is £15) at the moment you can get a HD box (without the need for HD pack cost) for £49 with free fitting, plus a £25 M&S voucher in return. you can then watch the FTA HD channels. Take your broadband elsewhere (orange is a tenner?) You couold actually go Sky HD, move your broadband and save money!!! thats a no brainer...! |

you are missing the point too matterhorn.
the rights to shows and content isn't evenly distributed. id say a good 75% of it is on sky. and to watch it all you need to pay for it on sky. which i have no objection to. but because they know they're the only dominant pay provider (since everyone else has nothing to challenge them with), then sky know they can charge what they like. I just wan't sport with sky but why should i have to fork out on a basic pack to start with? (as it happens i can't get sky). it's the same on player, and for what I got it was shockingly poor and not worth it! I know theyve been around longer, but when the likes of BT were banned from making any service, and the cable companies were too small to even consider anything.... then unfair advantage on sky? i think so. Don't tell me im stupid! i know perfectly well what I am on about! your view comes across strongly as "if you've done well in your career path and are a smart alec with a Degree and have a good job that pays loads then you can deserve the luxury of sky and its HD, if not then tough on you" |

your views change with the wind My views are still the same, they have not changed. I can see that both services got advantages and disadvantages Quote:

(BT bronze is £15) I used to watch motors T.V and Eurosport when i had sky before, they was not that good, anyway, I also said I want to watch stuff when I want to watch, not when someone thinks I should. Sky is not much good for that as it is linear, sure you got the PVR function. You said Sky is better, I just wonder why you think it is better? I can tell you now that I know people with TUTV and they think that is better than sky, I asked them why and their replies was that it was not that expensive, did not need broadband or a phone line for that matter, which sky do need a phone line, no dish is needed, they can take the box where ever they want as long as they can get a DTV signal, they can watch the content when they want as it is downloaded to their box. I agree with them to a certain extent, the idea is great, a better idea than BTV or Sky, the problem is not enough content, boxes that have problems and a bit expensive for what it offers. For BTV, my view is that it is a good idea, but the content is not that good and the system is shaky, I know my friend is finding it better with the new box, but she still have some problems. My view with sky is the same as it always have been, not flexible enough, too expensive and sky want to rule the world, or at least the u.K Quote:

I have not been in our M&S for 5 years if not more. HD channels FTA or paid for is to be honest not that good, seen these so called HD channels and not that impressed and if I wanted hem, I could get Freesat,. Quote:

I got to work things out, decide what I want to do, as you know or should do by now I am on BT broadband anywhere, my sister-in-law have got a good deal on a mobile phone, which I may go for, if I do then I will drop Bt like a stone. |

The world. Sky originally bought out an italian TV company and rebranded them as sky italia, theyve done the same in south america however recently Premiere Germany, has been bought out and is now sky deutschland. on all takeovers the subsequent core channels have been rebranded. so Premiere Bundesliga is now sky bundesliga etc etc and the current encryption halted and NDS brought in. they do trade in Australia and the US under the Fox Brands. it won't be long before they aquire someone else poland could be a target, or how about france? I know lets try bulgaria... it's stupid because even in Germany the customers are complaining the cost has gone up..... |
