Don't get me wrong. I like Mikey a lot- granted for his personality more than his skating ability- and I absolutely adore Mel.

But could ITV be any more transparent tonight pushing their not-so-hidden agenda to keep him in the competition?

He didn't skate so well this week and surely if it's time for him to go, it's time for him to go. What on earth are they hoping to gain by reminding us every five minutes that he's undergoing treatment as we speak?

Disappointing.

Have to say I thought exactly the same thing, they are desperate for him not to leave, so are pushing it down our throats.

If he's done himself an injury then I can't see him being able to skate in the skate off or again.

It's so pointless anyway, his fans win vote for him so much regardless - he was never going to be in the bottom two.

ITV are really peeing me off tonight!

Thats three tonight with injuries. I wish they would stop the "I have cut my lip. I have bad knees I am having treatment". It is so annoying these bids for votes and sympathy.

But they always update during the show if someone is in physio.

If he's done himself a serious injury then it's concerning for everyone. They have mentioned it little more than they perhaps needed to, but if he can't compete then it terms of the show it's big news.

I thought that, though he hasn't been well since Friday..difference is that Mikey himself wasn't the one who brought up his injuries so he can't be blamed for the actions of others.

Very true

I hope Mikey goes through - one of the best skaters, one of the most entertaining. Just an off week.

We heard in detail about Kieron and Daniella's injuries, so it was only fair they mentioned Mikey's.

He really isn't one of the best skaters. Out of those left, he's almost certainly the worst. He's getting through on the popularity/sympathy vote, not any skating skills.

It's a story. These ITV shows live on stories. That's why every X Factor contestant either has a kid or a dead relative. The drama of poor injured Mikey is great filler.

I have to say though, I have a lot of respect for Mikey for brushing off the fall when he was asked about it, even if everyone else did make a big deal about it. The other celebrities wouldn't have held back like that.

Kieron's lip!

It reminded me of someone on SCD - can't remember who now - spending their VT talking about hurting their finger.

In my opinion he is - in yours he isn't, be boring if we all thought the same.

The more complex the routine he fell apart.

First it was the knee then it turned out to be the shoulder.(the guy is very nice no doubt about that)

but what phil/holly did tonight basically begging to keep him in was just not on.

im guessing next week now its going to be back just zooming around the ice with very little else in there.

He's is a terrible skater whether he has an injury or not. He should have been in the skate off tonight and gone out of the competition and not Emily.

I dunno, folks, I don't think they did beg for him to stay in. He was injured, after all.

I didn't think so either, anyway, eack week they encourage people to vote for the couple in the lowest position (because they need more support than the couple with the highest marks). I don't think they made an extra big effort for Mikey.
