Fair enough to criticise ITV for the endless updates but you can't criticise Mikey. He completely played it down and was prepared to perform again in skate off if needs be.

Hiya.
Although I often read through the threads about DOI, I hardly ever join in. I think the main reason they kept going on about Mikeys` injury, (even though he played it down) was to show everyone that they really, really do "care", as, after what happened with Sharon, they may have realised that it did make a lot of people look less than perfect .... (Hope that makes sense!) |

Makes perfect sense, and puts an interesting spin on the VT. You might be on to something.

It's a story. These ITV shows live on stories. That's why every X Factor contestant either has a kid or a dead relative. The drama of poor injured Mikey is great filler.
I have to say though, I have a lot of respect for Mikey for brushing off the fall when he was asked about it, even if everyone else did make a big deal about it. The other celebrities wouldn't have held back like that.

You speak a lot of sense! Never thought of it like that! I did find it curious how everyone was making such a massive fuss of the poor, poor contestants and how difficult it is when you have a terrible injury! Chuh...
![]() By the way, your disappointment with the production team would have nothing to do with the leaving of a certain person, now would it ![]() ![]() ?

If Mikey had ended up in the skate off and was unable to skate what would they have done? It would have been a nightmare for the producers and its not surprising they pulled out all the stops to ensure they had a proper skate off between two skaters capable of taking to the ice.

It certainly explains the weirdness of yesterday's show. Look people we aren't as bad as all that, we do care and we do the best for our competitors.
By the way, your disappointment with the production team would have nothing to do with the leaving of a certain person, now would it ![]() ![]() ? well it certainly started with that! After watching the hatchet job the did on Sharron I'm a lot more aware of how things are manipulated behind the scenes - often to the detriment of the contestants even when the production team are trying to paint them in a positive light. Heather's popularity suffered due to the X-factor style maudlin fuss made over her leg, Mikey's popularity seems to have taken a knock due to the constant harping on by Phil et al about his Physio / injury etc, even Hayley is feeling the pressure at the top due to constantly being painted as the golden girl of the show. The powers that be need to take a step back and actually document what happens through the week and let the chips fall where they may with the public vote, rather than constantly pushing one thing or another into the limelight and going for the sensationalist angle. And breathe! God I'm an opinionated cow this morning! I miss Pav... ![]() ![]()

For me this year has been a bit of a revelation, because having no real favourite, it really highlights how things are manipulated by the lovely production team. Last week and yesterday, they took it to the max, and it kind of really spoils it. The other thing that occured to me, Jason had his sights set on Emily, and she went. If Emily had a stronger fanbase on here, everyone should be up in arms about it. He is really vile this year. In previous years, he even seemed to have a twinkle in his eyes about the booing. This year he seems to think he is the centre of the Universe. His comments to Emily yesterday were clearly biased. She was my least favourite contestant (that is not saying much, as I don't dislike any of them), but he was clearly biased and judged her wrongly on the night (because he wanted to get rid of her). |

![]() Though in the end, it probably did her more good than harm, because quite a few people, like me, probably felt she was being unfairly criticised by him. I don't think ultimately Jason is to blame for her going though, really - much as I'd like to blame him... |

And what an eye-opener it's been Can't believe I never realised (until now) how much the production team influences the voting public! So true about Jason he picks his least fave every week and the hounds them until they're gone. I felt really sorry for Emily last night (although, like you, I wasn't that bothered about her as a contestant either way), his comments were, once again, really unfair and insulting and no help to Emily whatsoever. He's outdone himself with his bitchiness this year, ugh.

Highlighted quote = absolutely bang on the money. I'm in the same boat - I was supporting Sharron for a while for... certain reasons

We need to find something to argue about, otherwise I assume that you are one of my multiple identies (not that I have DID ) who has logged onto our second home computer and replies to my own posts![]() ![]() . Re Jason: That was actually really obvious yesterday, and he didn't even attempt to hide his bias. To a certain degree, Emily's mother got her "punishment", wasn't she the one who defended Jason in relationship to Sharron on Friday (I might be making it up though). |

It's like Greece and Cyprus fawning over each other in the Eurovision Song contest It's essential we never meet, if we are the same person and we occupy the same space we'll create a paradox / rip in the space-time continuum!Jason has been vile this week - it was hideous to watch him virtually clinging to himself with glee when he derided Sharron for being 'disrespectful and appalling' on Friday's show. People in glass houses or what?! What's infuriating is that, obvious as his bias is, blatant as his unfair comments are, he'll never be booted off the show as grabbing a headline or two is more important to ITV than fairness or treating people with an iota or respect or compassion
