Er correct me if I'm wrong but Mikey hasnt? It'd be very interesting to know where Hayley is coming in the public vote, I honestly dont imagine it's that high. I think you may find her in the skateoff at least once, if her position on the leaderboard doesnt save her...

I am losing interest as well.....

The show began well enough with Series 1... improved greatly for Series 2 and absolutely peaked with the fantastic Season 3....Chris and Suzanne and those final weeks were the highlight of the entire thing. Season 4 was a one horse race from the split second it began.. so no excitement there, and this series is just suffering from a bit of viewer fatigue I think.

The repetition gets me... Holly and Phil like parrots every week being the main irritant ( by the way, Jane's dress this evening was dire on her... dear God... she was a tad mature shall we say for it). Its a obvious road now to Hayley/Dan and Daniella/Matt final, unless someone breaks a leg. Hey Ho.

I think fatigue is the word all right. I'm just not pushed any more. None of them this series are all that great. I think it would be exceptionally hard for any to break into the big five (Ray, Suzanne, Kyran, Chris and Clare) and we've basically seen it all with them already. I dont think you're going to get a celeb that will push it further than them, i think they've got as far as they can take a celebrity skater. We're starting to see lots of repetition now.

You know... that says it all perfectly. You are absolutely right......It peaked with those five........and there is only one direction anything can go that has peaked and that is slowly downhill. To be honest, I could see maybe only one/ maximum two series left before they call it a day. God knows, Torvill and Deans knees should be about ready to conk out at that stage anyway.

I thought Mikey had been in the SO one week too ... unless that's just me ... cos it's not holding my attention

I would be amazed the public vote is high atall, all round this year. Is not evoking the same passion as previous years.

An earlier comment you made on another post hit the nail on the head for me when you mentioned some of the most memorable routines from series' past that have remained etched in our memories. Yet this year, we are what? Half way through and we have had the ummm ... and the ... errrm ....

Says it all

And the ones I named were just the routines up to this point in series 3 (cos someone said before this point was garbage), I hadn't gone into the ones after week 8... Chris' La Vida Loca, cry me a river, Suzanne's Eternal flame, time to say goodbye... Even Zaraahs Diamonds and Pearls was very graceful.
From other series I can also name lots of Clares and Kyrans routines and some of Rays. All the best people have had lots of wow routines and because they were special i remember them. I dont think there's been a wow one for me at all yet this series.
The only song and skate I can name off the top of my head is Hayleys Just Dance but thats because they fell over. I know thats harsh but no other ones stand out, I remember thinking this is good but dont remember the routine, other than that one I can also name Keirons Pencil Full of lead (cos they had crazy costumes) but thats it off the top of my head, I'd have to really have a think. I know theres been some good enough other ones but none really stand out for me...

I'm glad I am not alone, I watch it on delay so I can FF all the adverts (it seems there is more than usual, one skater then ads!) but find I FF at least half the entire show.

I can't even put my finger on why but I am just not caring this series.

I've been thinking this for the last few weeks...in fact, I skipped the last two shows, although I watched tonight but it's just not grabbed me at all. There's no one to root for or against, the judges are tired and predictable, and the routines are not memorable at all, in fact they've been downright awful at times (like Daniella's tonight, yuck). I can understand that no one will top what Chris, Suzanne, Ray, etc., will do, or be as fun to watch as Donal was (or as horrible and easy to root against as Todd and Coleen) but they can be equaled. Not this year, though. Zzzzzz

Series three was DOI at it's peak I think, you had two brilliant competitors and a fascinating contest.
Series four had an exceptional skater but there was no competition.
This year everyone left is decent but there's no body who is particularly great. Gary is a good skater but has no performance, hayley has performance but is quite a basic skater, Daniella has the most promise to be the best all rounder but she needs to up it still.”

I agree with the posts....

I like Hayley she is clearly the best with all the best chroegraphy too! But not as exciting or good as the best in previous years.

It's going to get better VERY shortly.

If Mikey carries on being a wobbly mess then he needs ditching, but after that you've got five people who are all capable of 20+ routines fighting it out to stay in the show. (The only one who hasn't scored over 20 already, IIRC, is Kieron, and he's made 19.5 and should easily be capable of stepping up.)

Fewer celebs = more time to choreograph which SHOULD = more interesting routines.

Mikey hasn't been in the skate off - more's the pity.

I agree with you re Hayley - not sure she is going to win this - she is the best atm but any improvements she has made are marginal and anyone who at this stage can up their game and make a breakthrough could win it.

the series though is a bit meh as the OP said. the routines are tired, the format is dull and the music choices are dreadful. There are no pro dances, hardly ever any entertainment. For me it's just dullsville this year - and I think that has less to do with the skaters and more to do with everything else.
