In every interview she always seems to be going on about how she has her own identity and is different to the likes of Gaga etc.. yet she gets compared to quite alot of other artists.

Is she just run of the mill pop by numbers or is she infact unique and groundbreaking??

thoughts please...

I don't think she's deep at all. She has little talent to back up her attitude and ego. Her songs are catchy and that's it. The lyrics are awful, her "singing" is awful and I can't see her lasting very long.

She's as deep as a puddle and just as talented as one. I wish she'd just go away

She isn't very deep at all. Why can't people just accept who they are and go with it? Sheesh!

Well surely her songs are supposed to represent her, and her image.

Lyrically she's so shallow she's evaporated, and image wise she's got that "just had sex upside down in a bush on a cocktail of drugs" look that makes me so happy smell-o-vision never happened.

She's nothing new. In fact she's so derivative it's embarrassing.

There is absolutely nothing deep about her at all.

She's just fun catchy pop music of the moment. Who is she fooling?

She's seems to have taken the trashier parts of Madonna, Lady Gaga, Britney Spears. With little imagination, song craft or general musicallity as far as I'm concerned.
Some people seem to get the idea that being trashy added to a schmalzy catchy tune is a good substitute for genuine creativeness. As a music lover I'm a little bit concerned about this seemingly ever increasing trend.
I just heard a comment from Marina (& the Diamonds) that her upbringing has influenced her music.Coming from a small village in Wales she was not exposed to trash culture she would be exposed to in an inner city area. Now she is living in an inner city environment I hope this doesn't mean she will be over exposed to this trash culture or manages to seperate herself from it a little.A little bit of trashiness is O.K. but it how far you take it is the problem.

PS Glad to see Blah, blah, blah hasn't really taken off in the charts.

I really like Kesha. I love her image. I think she is great. But she isn't original.

I think she'll be around in America for quite a while yet.Hope that she disappears from the British music scene though. If you are big in America - it doesn't mean you are going to be big in the UK from now on I hope. There seems very easy for American 'pop' artists to become almost big in the UK automatically. This analogy doesn't seem to cross over to pop/rock or other genres so easily though, thankfully.America does seem to embrace trash culture far more easily in the 'pop' world at least - perhaps there is still a little bit of hope for 'Broken Britain' (contemporary culture does reflect attitudes).

I'd like to know what you really mean 'go with it'?I think everyone should be able to comment about the influence an artist brings to pop. There is such lack of quality in Kesha's work a true music lover should be at least be a little bit concerned about it, although it may be sort of catchy & fun to their ears.
Are you saying that because she has been promoted as the latest trend as perceived by her Major label the majority of pop lovers should lap it up & buy into it - totally disagree with this if you think that.I prefer the pop culture to grow a little more organically than the way things seem to happen at the moment where the Major labels seem to second guess what pop music is likely to be successful in the future, promote it with with big bucks & almost guarantee the success of their artists. You do realise that Ke$ha is a just a cash cow for her label don't you.

Not desperately trying to be something she isn't.

Couldn't have put it better myself.

She didn't manage to change this idea when I saw her on T4 the other day either. I thought she was still "crunked" or high from the night before.

She also can't sing live, imoimoimo Or at least, her songs (both of which I love by the way!!) are so heavily auto-tuned, it's impossible to sound anything like them.
