Didn't expect much but have been laughing all the way through.
Its the most creative sketches I've seen in ages. Unexpected laughs, Very original, and off beat, and surreal at times. Loved the Jinga, A & E , and creasing myself at the lift sketch....soooo true, ![]() ![]() ![]()

Plesently surprised.
![]() Some really funny sketches especially the voice recognition lift. Also liked the ned and the bottle and the radio psychic. "And there you go!"

We were in hysterics, that was so funny. I hope the next five episodes are as good as that.

already the best sketch show on tv. strange that you can get a show like this, only shown in scotland, stuck away on bbc 2 and its brilliant from the start and compare it with high profile stuff like chris moyles show which is complete garbage.

That eleven sketch at the end went on a bit too long but apart from that it wasn't bad.

I must admit, when BBC Scotland aired the pilots of Limmy's Show and Burnistoun last year I thought it was a competition. And the pilot for the latter was awful, thought Limmy had won the only six episode order.
Last night was hysterical at times, especially the sketch with the "bottle of ginga." More of that please, surprised and impressed! In fact if only one of them can get a second series, on the strength of that, Limmy is screwed!

I thought Limmys show was good but burnistoun is even better.
Who would have thought that BBC Glasgow could make two good comedies one after the other. ![]() The only sad note was the homophobia.

Loved it! I was already a fan of Robert Florence thanks to videoGaiden and Consolevania, really glad he's got his own comedy show now
Of course, it'll never get a repeat on network, such is the prejudice against low budget, Scottish-accented comedy.

Wasn't sure about this beforehand. So many Scottish comedy programs try to emulate hit shows (Scotch N Wry, Naked Video, Rab C.,City Lights, Still Game, etc.) and fail miserably (Dear Green Place, anyone).
However, after one episode, this promises to live up to the pre-show hype that it is the true successor to "Chewing the Fat" ![]() Loved the buffet, "ginga" and "elivin". ![]() ![]() Looks like after a couple of recent minor hits, Florence and Connell could be taking over from Kiernan and Hemphill as Kings of Scots sitcoms/sketch shows. Hope it keeps it up! |

I was really pleasantly surprised with this. The All You Can Eat Curry Buffet really struck a chord!
The only sketch I didn't care for was the one in the ice cream van. The Single Issue Politiican was inspired. The closer of "Ah cannae even f**** drive" in that defeated tone was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. |

Seems to have disappointed as its gone on.
The only laugh was the irony of the Snare the Beast....frighteningly true in todays society. and the last sketch when she went out and forgot her key ...

I'm genuinely stunned that BBC Scotland/The Comedy Unit have made a comedy which is just as good as Chewin' the Fat/Still Game/Rab C Nesbitt. Honestly, everything they've done has been pretty guff (Happy Hollidays, The Limmy Show, Gary: Tank Commander). But Burnistoun has been stellar.
