Yes, the underdone spuds rank high, but let's not forget undercooked rice. Even worse overcooked pasta.

Peas and tinned spaghetti (things like hoops in tomato sauce).
Agree also about liver and under done spuds, ruins a meal! |

Red cabbage as it is too sweet for going with mash and gravy and I can't think of any meal this fare could go with apart from the waste bin that is.
Carrots that are cut in to big chunks and only half cooked. |

bones in a fishcake- ruins whole meal for me. Underdone potatos- agree totally. So many places- even decent restaurants serve these chunky chips of fondant potatoes that are a bit hard in the middle. Pommes dauphinoise is quite often the same.

all fruit?- even like apricot pieces or raisins in a morroccan tagine, or apple with pork?
now strawberries or peaches with savoury isn't great. and banana Actually, my mum invented a pork dish with a sauce that consisted of softened onions and grated apple - now I liked that a bit better but not when I could taste the apple! I occasionally make it, but the apple content is far lower than she would use! |

![]() we need a vomit smilieI think the EU food authorities should focus their attention on this one and leave the bananas and cucumbers alone! The person that came up with this bizarre idea should be gently taken away by strong men in white. |

Okra...it's just possible to make it edible by deep frying all the slimy nastiness away until you are left with little more than a crispy shell but it really is horrible stuff otherwise.

Over cooked roast potatoes, especially small ones, they go sweet and revolting. You get them so often if you eat roast dinner at a restaurant

Anything with marmite. Serves me right but I once snaffled a couple of what I thought were Parmentier potatoes when the chef had his back turned, only to find he'd coated them with Marmite.
We do indeed need a vomit smiley. Also agree with the sweet and sour thing - fruit of any kind in a savoury dish is vile (IMO of course). And yes, that also includes apricots in a tagine etc. I remember making Sole Veronique at college, and wondering why on earth someone would want to spoil a beautiful piece of fish by adding a handful of grapes. |
