Chicken - would this work?

I'm shortly going to put a chicken in the oven for tonight's dinner, and was wondering if this would work -

I was going to grate the rind of a lemon in with some butter, mix the two together, then push under the skin of the breasts; then I was going to take the rest of the lemon, cut it in half or even quarters, and stick it in the cavity.

Sound OK or would this be too lemony?

Sounds great, I always shove half a lemon up its bum! If you have any fresh herbs knocking about mix some in with the butter and lemon zest before sliding under the skin. If you haven't got any fresh herbs a pinch of dried Thyme will work.

No fresh herbs left, but tons of dried in the cupboard - thanks
