I agree they're not the same, although I bought a 400g box in Tescos today for £1-97

All of the discontinued varieties are better than the current ones. The only ones left now are horrible creamy, nutty ones

Another sign of Broken Britain!

Im another who prefers Quality Street, heck even Celebrations are better than Roses these days. The quality has certainly slipped.

Kraft have taken them over so I guess they have changed the ingredients to American ones

They're my favourite Celebration too.

I like the Penny Toffees - send them all to me! Although I still prefer a toffee finger.

Roses used to be my first choice, followed by Heroes, then Celebrations then Quality Street.

Roses have been rubbish for about the last year and I actually prefer Quality Street to them now! At least they've kept their sweets in their proper wrappers. What's that all about - putting the Caramel Keg in the Caramel wrapper??? And it's so hard to find a fudge - all the wrappers are the flamin same colour!!!

Substitute 29th for 26th or even 25th, and they're my sentiments exactly.

I can't quite believe some people are seriously suggesting this is due to Kraft. If they want Cadbury's to keep doing well in the UK, they won't mess with it. And even if they intend to, the very idea that so soon after buying the company they've changed the production completely and got it out to all the shops is, frankly, ludicrous.

worst thing to happen to Roses was removal of the Coffee Creme, the best sweet they did.

When I worked in a big office, after christmas everyone would bring in the leftover sweets and there was always loads of them no-one liked them! One lad did (youngest of 8 kids) he loved them - it was the only sweet his sibling would not eat! He loved the after christmas sweet swap.

You should all be making your own Roses and Quality Street by hand - what's wrong with you all?

and just think of the level of fat in today's cheap processed chocolate! It bears no relevance to the 'real stuff' - I have my own cocoa bean farm in Bolivia dontcha know and make my own chocolate.
