Think of all those chemicals, additives, saturated fat and salt. You could have made your own pizza with real, fresh ingredients for a fraction of the cost! |

I love the Etna at Pizza Express, nice and hot but not so bad I can't taste the food (though maybe too hot for some) and lovely sweet/smoky taste from the sausage and roquito peppers.
I'm not really keen on heat for heats sake so I've a feeling that the Dominos one wouldn't be for me. How does it taste once it's finished melting your face? |

Making your own takes a lot of time & effort and the ingredient prices to start to stack up. You need to buy the ingredients for the sauce, then the cheese and the toppings. That can easily come over £4. Ok, you do have leftovers but how many pizzas are you going to eat in a week? |

Dominoes deliver for £4! Not where i am.
You can actually make a cheap pizza from scratch including base and pesto in not a lot of time mind. I use my bread maker to make the dough (45mins) for a start, blitzing pesto takes no time. Then topping of your choice. I could actually make it for £4, but not deliver. We still get deliver pizza and indian though, just not crappy dominoes or pizza hut! Just dont like their bases, another local is really nice though. |

I've never, ever had a Dominos pizza... We don't have one in this town...
They're there, in the back of my mind, when a notion for a pizza comes along, but can't be bothered making the journey 30-40 minute round journey to get home and eat a cold pizza. I have no idea if I'm missing out, or not. ![]() I used to think I was missing out on the Subway sensation, until I had one. I really couldn't see what all the fuss was about, it was one of the worst sandwiches I've ever had. I know Greggs gets a slating on here, but give me one of their sandwiches over a Subway any day... |

Lunch time special 7" for just £1.99. Collection only. Ham & mushroom for me. Never understand why anybody would have pineapple on a pizza

You could have made your own pizza with real, fresh ingredients for a fraction of the cost! Or not. Doing a quick look at Tesco, getting together all the ingredients to make a pizza similar to the meltdown would cost £9. Hardly a "fraction" of the cost, when the pizza is £10.99. |

I have news for you, the pizza I'd make at home, if I was so inclined, would still involve a decent dose of saturated fat and salt. Cheese and pepperoni don't suddenly become laden with these things when being used by a pizza place. I have no wish to make my own pizza base. My down time is minimal and I'd prefer not to use it up making a pizza base etc. While I don't use Domino's I am partial to a shop bought pizza - though I'm sure that's a detestable thing to you also. In other news, and in reply to the OP - I might have to try it. I like a constitution challenging pizza. My favourite local dirty pizza place does one called the dynamite. It's a combination of ingredients that would make Mantey want to curl up in a ball about and refuse to acknowedge the existence of. Spicy beef, onions, chicken tikka, pepperoni, jalapenos, doner meat (oh yes) and topped off with lashings of chili powder. The viciousness of it depends on the 'chef' of the night. But it's safe to say it's the pizza that keeps on giving. 12 hours later it burns just as much as it did when it went in. The word 'masochism' springs to mind. |

I don't like Domino's ... I'm really not a fan of their bases.
Pizza hut is delicious though ... I usually get a half-and-half, and eat the pepperoni hot, and have the super supreme (pepperoni, ham, spicy beef, peppers, onions, mushrooms) cold the next day. Pizza hut pizzas are delicious cold - Domino's aren't. That's the big difference for me

I've never been in a pizza place in this country. I've been in a few independant ones in America though. I prefer a very thin and crispy crust with just tomato sauce, mozarella and fresh basil, nothing else is necessary IMO.

Pizza express do a Romama style pizza based on the ones from Rome (bit obvious there Hobbes ) that are bigger than average but super thin and cripsy and with authentic toppings - really simple except I like artichokes with mine.

I agree that makes a lovely pizza but I do like other combinations. A good capricciosa or romana pizza is a joy to eat. Although I did sink pretty low at university when it was possible to order a "Doner pizza"....well it tasted nice until the morning when you could see through the cardboard box from the amount of grease on it. |

another thread of mine is hijacked.
I got 2 pizzas for £15 so £7.50 each, home made pizzas are a hassle so much washing up, and then hunting down the ingredients, and then cooking, all I did was go online, order and pay using card and it was delivered 35 minutes later, about as long as it would of cost me to cook anyways. We all have to die of something, excess salt, is hardly gonna finish me off straight away, maybe i should go cook up some crack instead...thats apparantly safe |

Well only if you get your cocaine direct from the source. Why buy in cocaine from Columbian drug barons which has been cut with all sorts of nasty chemicals when you can grow much better quality coca leaves in your own garden for a fraction of the cost!
But well put!
