Kettle and pope come to mind. There is no evidence that Hayley was first either in the public vote (at this stage of the game, the person with the highest mark is less likely to pick up the highest public vote, because people assume they are safe).

How would Mikey have survived if he had been third in the public vote?

Read my post for the logic.

I'm confused. How could Mikey have been third & beat Daniella in second? Were Daniella and Danny tied?”

Because there were 2 ties on the board!!!!

Meaning the points are now:

Hayley = 5
Daniella = 4
Danny = 4
Gary = 3
Kieron = 2
Emily = 2
Mikey = 1

Meaning that if Mikey came 3rd with the viewers, earning him a total of 5 points...he would have the same points than Daniella...by which case they probably just count the individual votes, whoever has more etc.

Apology accepted

I know there is no evidence Hayley was top...that's my personal feelings. Mikey could have survived because there were 2 ties with the judges scores, meaning Daniella only had 4 points being in 2nd place (as she was tied with Danny) and Mikey could have picked up 5 points if he was 3rd on the leader board with the public votes (earning him an extra 4 points on top of the 1 he received from the judges)

1. Mikey & Melanie
2. Hayley & Daniel
3. Gary & Maria
4. Kieron & Brianne
5. Emily & Fred
6. Danny & Frankie
7. Danniella & Matthew

With my scenario, the points are:
Hayley 1+2=3
Gary 4+3=7
Mikey 7+1=8
Danny 2+6=8
Kieron 5+4=9
Danniella 2+7=9
Emily 5+5=10

Resulting in Danniella and Emily in the Skate-Off

Well, actually...

Dancing On Ice has never confirmed how they deal with ties. There are two possible ways.

And considering all of the apologies you owe people on here for being so rude, we'll let this slide.

Well I've heard that in the event of a tie, the contestant with the larger public vote figure is safe.

A forum member - I think Saturn - e-mailed in the website and they confirmed it was in the same style as what strictly has been changed to with regards ties on the judges leaderboard. And if a couple afterwards is tied then the one with the higher public vote goes through - I can't remember what thread it was on, but I'm sure it was reported like that.

But I think its silly to think Mikey was anywhere other than top - he's popular anyway + bottom of the leaderboard vote surge + pleas of sympathy and repeated showings of the fall = mass vote and topping the leaderboard.

That is true; he's the only one whose vote has actually been tested and not found wanting (i.e. he's been low on the leaderboard and still not faced a skate off). However, as I said before, we still don't actually know. He could have been as low as fourth!

Nothing wrong with your personal feeling, but that was exactly my point. The post I quoted from you seemed to imply that people were "just expressing their personal favourites" rather than stating logically who might have been top or bottom in the public vote. You saying that Hayley was at the top was also expressing your personal feeling based on your favourite.

No hard feelings here, and I'm not nitpicking, I just found it amusing.

Suspect its higher as the weak skater but the right age and the middle-aged male appeal vote have hung about longer in recent series and have been in the 40% region. They also feature in most other recent reality TV shows too. In his case you can add the boyband vote, a regional vote and a sympathy vote.

The interesting thing on the other side of the equation is where the people who have left's votes are going. There you may have the recent X factor phenomena that Alexandra Burke's vote goes up in line with the other females leaving and this year the X factor girls seemed to share a fixed proportion of the vote. That may help Daniella and Hayley next week but after that its going to be people who voted for a male loking for somone new to vote for and this series its the weaker males who have had big votes not a Colleen. Hayley can't do a Suzanne Shaw and overtake from behind in ability and votes. Her obvious story is she is good and always has been - even though actually improving from where she was to where she is is probably a harder journey than anyone else's. The three younger males all seem to have had big problems with their vote . Daniella has problems with her vote. Mikey's vote should crumble on merit but may not if there's no one with a story or another male with enough ability or likeability for it to go to.

The other thing is that all the results so far are consistent with the supposed early leak of the voting percentages. Emily lost support as she did better which often happens. Sharon gained an anti-Jason vote but then lost it (or had it spun away from her) The boys skated a bit better and some may have picked up Dr H 's vote. Otherwise, we are still where the leak would have us.
