'Billie Jean' by Michael Jackson was the first video to air on MTV by a black artist. Initially, the channel did not want to air any music by black artists.

Swedish Singer Robyn sings on Britney's Piece of me. She sings the line "you wanna piece of me"
Paris hilton was apparently offered Don't chat that eventually went to Pussycat dolls. It also apparently offered to Britney Beyonce's halo was originally written for Leona Lewis Taio Cruz wrote Break your heart for Cheryl Cole originally Lady GaGa originally wrote Telephone for Britney Spears Keri Hilson wrote Britney spears's Gimme More. She also co wrote 2 more tracks on her blackout album. Dido wrote Britney's I'm not a girl, not yet a woman R Kelly wrote Britney's Outrageous song. Britney's song Everytime is the only song that has been released as a single that was written by her. |

If I Were a boy is Beyonce's biggest here. Yet, she never even wrote herself which is rare for Beyonce to not have a song written by her.

Can anybody tell me what was the lowest selling #1 ever? I know Pixie Lott (or Taio Cruz) had the lowest selling #1 of 2009 but what about other years/all time?

Only one I can think of at the moment is that Girls Aloud's Graffiti My Soul (from What Will The Neighbours Say) was originally written and recorded for Britney's In The Zone album. But when Britney's people heard it they told Brian Higgins (the writer and producer) "Where's the chorus? Why are there no repetitive parts?" and turned it down. And Cheryl said: "I heard it and it was really strange. We didn't hear it fully mixed. But on our version I sing the line 'You dream of touching me there' and I heard her sing it in that really strange voice and it freaked me out." Oh and also, Rachel Stevens' Sweet Dreams My LA Ex was orginally written for Britney. It was meant to be in response to Justin Timberlake's Cry Me A River. Quote:

The first million selling record was Enrico Caruso's recording of "On With The Motely" in 1908.
An "alleged" recording of the composer Brahams is supposedly the earliest known piece of recording that still exists - it was recorded by Thomas Edison onto a wax cylinder. |
