I am thinking about havinh the Motorola V525, is the phone good, are the pictures good? Do the pictures look blurred if you move? Is it reliable? Is it worth the money? Are there any bad points? Whats the battey life?

Whe the images blur slightly, is it that noticable, and does it always blur?

I had to take my first one back as it kept refusing to power on.
The second one keeps locking up when using the camera for some reason but the picture quality is pretty good.
the battery is ok except if you play Java games a lot which tends to murder it.

Do you know anybody that has got the mobile, and has had success with it? Or can someone suggest another good one?

I've got one, it's a good phone.

I think the older ones had software problems where they kept switching off, etc as Jez mentioned but mine's been fine.

Orange. The v500 is the same. I believe v525 is exclusive to Vodafone. I got one on Saturday and am very pleased with it.

4 more Q's:

1) can i set a mp3 song as my ringtone? (i assume i can download the mp3 with the phone connected up to the pc via a datacable)

2) can i strech the screen saver and backround images, as they are centred. also is the phone able to handle dynamic screen savers such as changing images?

3) if i have a picture, and i want it to send to someone via bluetooth, how do i do this?

4) when i put my o2 sim into this V525 vodaphone phone, it says i need to enter a subsidy password? what hte heck is that??~?

cheers

1) Download the MP3 to your phone (Bluetooth or cable), go to it in My Items, press menu and select Apply as ringtone

2) Menu>settings>personalise>wallpaper>layout: fit-to-screen. Yes it can do gifs, etc as screensavers

3) Go to the picture, press menu and select copy. It will ask if you want to turn on Bluetooth if you haven't already

4) Don't know about the sim stuff sorry

To activate/deactivate Bluetooth go to settings, connection, bluetooth and the settings are in there.

Subsidy lock is just another name for network lock. Your V525 is locked to Vodafone, to use o2 sim card, you will need to get it unlocked.

Also I phoned my mobile to listen to the ringtone, because I did't know how to get the tones up at the time, and I hanged up and after it bleeped every so often, is that why?

A feature of the phone (and V500/600) is that if you get a text message or missed call etc.. it keeps beeping until you respond (i.e. read the text).

Don't know if I like this or not

You can just press the smart key on the side and it stops beeping at you, or you can turn off the feature in setup.

Thnaks for the reply, also a handsfree thing came with the phone (mic, earphone, clip), and I can't find the hole where it plugs in.
