Ex-Butchers please
I am trying to contact any ex-butchers who worked for Woodleys, Dewhurst, Coop etc. or privateer.
I worked for Woodleys from 1974 and a friend worked for Dewhurst from 1968. We are putting together a bit of memorabilia from Butchers past and present, stories, pictures, history etc.......anybody wishing to join us or add any comments would be most welcome. We are genuine " old butcher boys"and this is not advertising for anything. If anyone could help or would like to comment, please post here and then I shall ask the admin if I can post a link. Looking forward to hearing from you. Terry (C.F) |

What a great idea
![]() Unfortunately it wasn't a chain of butchers shops that I worked for around the same era as yourself. I worked for a local independent butcher from 1973 to around 1986. During that time, my boss sold the shop to an ex-Dewhurst man, which is the only connection to your request I have. But I have no idea where I would find him now...it's been a while. Good luck - I'd be interested to hear how you get on. |
