Yeah, it's usually early-mid July. I hope they'll cast some more strategic players this season, because BB11 had lots of characters, and of course characters are great, I would like a season of some proper strategic gameplay.

I really can't wait either, I'm excited for this year more than last. Its the best thing about the summer imo. I hope all the players are just playing for themselves and not forced into a clique or anything like BB11.

You're asking a lot for a Big Brother USA to be gimmick-free.

The cliques really were pointless in the end. Wonder what enforced bonds we'll get this time around.

I dont think the cliques worked as badly as I thought they would - by the second week, the house had divided into two groups anyway, and the better group had a mix of all four cliques anyway (P - Jordan, Laura, B - Michele, O - Casey and A - Jeff)

The problem with last year was that the awful alliance won the first few HoH competitions, taking out most of the likeable players before they even started going. (Laura, I still miss you )

I think also the cliques worked quite well since there were cross-allies in the teams (Jeff/Michelle/Casey/Russell later) and were less restrictive/obvious like some of the past twists (Season 6/Season 9).

Honestly I dont see how CBS can directly avoid the possibility of 'good' people going first... Then again it does fit in well with the whole storyline aspect of the show (Evil ruling first, then Good clawing back before getting victory).

To be fair BB11 had a decent amount of players both good and bad.
- Kevin
- Michelle
- Jeff
- Ronnie
- Natalie (yes I do see her as an actual gameplayer)
- Casey
- Russell
- And Jessie (who upped his game considerably from BB10)

As for the others, Laura didnt seem to have very good strategy at all (I mean she was asking to be booted, casting blame on Ronnie for switching his vote when RONNIE had the HOH!), Jordan rode Jeff/Michelle and then snipped the win, Braden was... ehh... Chima shouldnt have been let into the house in the first place (though it was good to actually see somebody be thrown out for something non-violent) and Lydia, while she seems really cool out of the house, fell apart fast inside.

The cast can hardly be any more strategically challenged than BB11's. I'm struggling to think of a less strategic cast... perhaps the majority of BB6?

Didn't watch it :-p Lost interest shortly after BB8 started and couldn't get pulled back in until the great BB10.

You're lucky then. BB9 is without a doubt the worst season ever, with the worst cast ever.

The BB9 cast was truely awful. I still think to this day that by the jury stage Natalie was the only person who actually was attempting to do things to better herself and ultimatley win the game.

And also, as entertaining as the season was, the BB6 cast were on the whole awful players. I think Maggie, James and Rachel were just about the only decent players that year, and none of those three were particularly great.

Kaysar put together a shambolic though likeable alliance, and played terribly at all times after that. Janelle made silly strategic decisions, and really blew any chance of her alliance winning by going after Jenny instead of Maggie. Ivette was dumb, and cost herself a million in the final 3 week, Beau, April and Jennifer were all nonentities and just basically sheep, Sarah was sweet, but had no real game, and Howie.. well we dont even need to speak about Howie.

I watched the USA BB for the first time last summer. It was awesome and I'll defo be tuning in for this. Totally different from the UK one and I like both for different reasons.

Anyone know the start date yet?

Apparently its mid-July. Cant wait either. You should check out some old seasons on Youtube while you wait. Last season was good, but it was by no means the best year.

BB2, BB3 or BB6. Those are the best seasons in my opinion. BB2 and BB3 for strategy. BB6 for drama.
