Why does it need to be on Ethernet 1?

Can I use a hub behind the TV for other Ethernet items and share the connection to the hub?

Socket 1 of the Hub has QOS {quality of service}enabled on it.

I have a 5 port ethernet switch plugged in at the other end of a 10mtr ethernet cable without issues.

Great - I'll get a hub and stick the PS3 on as well

I have this Netgear FS605 Platinum Series 5 Port 10/100 Unmanaged Switch . Our PS3 is 1of 3 that it also connected.

I should have said "Socket 1 of the Hub should have QOS {quality of service}enabled on it. As it is not always enabled by BT when you order BT Vision.

Nice one - I'll be needing one of those soon for my new setup. Cheers.

this is ONLY for homehubs 1.0 and 1.5. Version 2.0 homehubs A and B. can have BT vision on ANY port. the software onboard can tell if a Vision box is connected, by the packet data. (bit like nvidia's first packet technology)

I know this works because my Vision box is on Port 4 and my upŝtairs lan area is on port 1. Port 2 is connected to a extremely locked down WEP wifi access point (used ONLY for the nintendo DS's and PSP's)

and BT Vision works fine, and my downloads get a little slower when something on demand kicks in.
