Meal Recipes
I was looking through the food forum and couldn't really see any thread where people can get together and share recipes they have.
I just thought I would try and start one, I only ask that people tell us what Meal it is (i.e. Breakfast, Lunch, Tea, Dinner and Supper) what the ingredients are (with quantities if possible) and how to make it? Pictures would be good too if you can? |

My special honey n mustard veggie parcels
![]() 1 x onion 1 x red pepper 1 x green pepper 2 tbsp runny honey 2 tbsp mustard pinch salt pinch pepper few splashes worcester sauce Packet of puff pastry few slices edam cheese Dice the vegetables, mix in a bowl with the honey, mustard, salt, peper, worcester sauce. Leave to stand for a while if you wish but not necessary. Heat a little oil in a pan, fry off the vegetable & sauce mix. After 4 minutes take off the heat. Heat the oven up as per puff pastry packet instructions ![]() Roll pastry out, cut into 4. In the middle of each square (or rectangle if you can't roll in a square like me sometimes ) place a few spoonfuls of the now cooling down mix. Top with a slice of the cheese, fold over the edges to meet in the middle *tip - pull corner into middle, then opposite corner etc until you have an envelope style. Make a few slits in the pastry to allow steam to escape and put in the oven for about 20 minutes (or until pastry is cooked) Enjoy! Sorry if my instructions are a bit vague! I do it all automatically so trying to explain is a bit tough lol |

Ok how about this one?
![]() My best beef stew! Great for Sunday dinners! ![]() depending on how many - I make for 7 of us and use about 1kg of diced beef casserole from Asda of all places. 4 large carrots, sliced 1 onion, 1 oxo cube a few tablespoons of gravy granules Into a large pot or stock pot brown the beef - crumble the oxo onto the beef and onion and brown altogether. Once browned top up with about 2 litres of boiling water and the carrots. Put the lid on the pot and simmer for 3-4 hours. Check after a few hours that the beef is tender - ie try slicing a little and if it cuts very easily then it's great! If not, add more water if needed and simmer for a while longer. Once it's as tender as you would like it add some dumplings if liked. I used a packet mix of all things and they go down well with everyone ![]() Add the gravy granules once the dumplings are ready or if you are not using them, just before you are ready to serve - to thicken up the stew ![]() Serve with whatever you are serving with! Ours is generally mashed potatoes, puff pastry, veg - ie peas, brocolli, cauliflower etc. It's so simple and easy to make. Just bung it on and leave it for a few hours. Perfect homecooked meal for busy people on the go all the time like me
