7up Cherry is back!
markelliott

Yep, back in the UK! My dad picked me up two 24 can pallets from Makro this afternoon. It must be about 15 years ago since I last had this stuff when I was only a young child. Not had any of it yet, but I will soon. Lucky me.

Im remember back in secondary school when we had a coke vending machine which had cherry 7up.
Shake the can, pull the ringpull and stand well back.

Well I've just finished the first can and hell this stuff tastes divine. It's exactly how I remember it. Way better than Coca Cola Cherry. So pleased 7up Cherry is back!

Yep you are right by the looks of it. Just had a look on the Makro site and it mentions something about a Makro Tradecard. My dad would have one of these because I think part of his job involves getting supplies and catering for visitors at work.

Anyway, great news about 7up Cherry being back in the UK. Has anyone seen it on the shelves yet?

I dont think it ever actually left. At least, the cornershop near where I worked until recently has always stocked it.

It's possible that the corner shop near where you worked sourced it internationally. I certainly haven't seen it anywhere for at least a decade and a half.

It's weird, the newsagent down the road from me has always done Cherry 7Up but I've never seen it anywhere else. It's a really tiny shop as well and everything else in there is pretty run-of-the-mill so I'm not sure how it ended up with a never ending supply of the stuff! Love it though.

Quite a few shops do it round where I live. Have done ever since I was a kid.

I love it too.

Again, it could have been imported, unless you know if it was GB stuff? I saw one small shop near me selling Mountain Dew for a pound a can a few months ago. That definitely would have been imported because it isn't available over here.

According to wiki:

Quote:
“
Cherry 7 Up

Cherry 7 Up flavor, with these ingredients listed: Carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup, citric acid, natural and artificial flavors, potassium benzoate, red 40. One known ingredient that falls under "natural and artificial flavors" is apple juice.

Cherry 7 Up Antioxidant

Replaced Cherry 7 Up in January 2009. Contains 10% of US daily recommended Vitamin E dosage per 8 oz serving.
”

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/7_Up#Variations

I am sure the last time I had some (a few months ago now) it was the normal stuff not the antioxidant one so maybe that is just in the USA. But can't say it was that memorable.

Cherry 7u is gorgeous! I rarely drink it as it's got a really high sugar content (compared to others, like apple/cherry Tango, and even regular Fanta).

I have always seen it now and again but it's not a staple of most convenience stores.

Cherry 7up has been sold and made in the UK by Britvic for years. All the local newsagents here in East London sell it in cans. It is very hard to find in certain areas though.

It's always been pretty easy to track some down in Manchester - you won't find it in the main supermarkets, but a good proportion of independent newsagents in the city centre have it.

I like it a lot, except bizarrely I find it a bit too fizzy - it's almost like it's been over carbonated. I tend to pour it into a glass rather than drink it straight out of the can - this calms it down a bit.
