I like Danny. I have supported him from the very second week of DOI. He got a lot of stick on here in the 1st week. People called him cocky (all he did was be confident). Last week when Coleen asked Emma who she thought would go, she immedietly said it would be Danny without even thinking. I personally really cant see why people like Mikey. I can't stand his dancing, skating and he always looks so uncomfortable.

I agree about Mikey always looking uncomfortable and so does Kieron. Kieron is so desperate to win, he tries to attempt moves that are too difficult for him instead of learning to do basic skating first.

![]() Kieron doesn't choose the moves he does, Chris and Jayne do. You're having a go at him for trying (and generally succeeding) in the tricky bits of skating he's given to do. |

How can you complain about people being "horrible" to Hayley & then make comments like this?

I am not being "horrible", both Mikey and Kieron look uncomfortable on the ice to me, I always think they are going to fall over. Perhaps if Kieron didn't try the impossible he might come over a little better and his overall performance might improve. That's why he is not getting the votes because it is all tricks and no performance.

I just can't warm to Danny and I don't think his skating is that great. Yes he deserved higher than 17 last week but I think he was a bit overmarked. I have to admit I wasn't that big a fan of Kieron either the first couple of weeks but he has really impressed me recently.

Anyway Kieron's skating and performance are not getting the votes, so something is wrong isn't it? I quite like Kieron and think he would be much better of trying to improve his overall performance instead of all the difficulty. It does not look attractive and the voters obviously agree with me. |

It shouldn't make him seem any more desperate than Hayley's "performing" makes her look.

But this thread is about Kieron and Danny, not Hayley
![]() It was also -- by that point -- about seeming desperate, and about "getting the votes". Comparison with other skaters on those points therefore becomes relevant. |

Danny has been in the SO a few times. I'd rather not see him in a SO. Danny is a lovely boy and I still fail to see why people cant warm to him. Perhaps his is not pushy enough and doesn't moan about injuries to make people feel sorry for him. Doesn't have any sob stories. His mum came across nice too on one of the Friday shows. Gary gains popularity by going on about how he'd propose to his GF. Parades his daughter at every opportunity. I suppose some people buy all this sugary sweet stuff. I just cant see the Mikey love. Skill level has plateaued, can see him improving. TBH I think Kieron sufferes the same fate as Danny but is probably more popular because he is pushier.

Danny is cute but oh so dumb. I don't think I'd even date him more than a couple of times.

Hmm. I think the difference is in the starting points - Danny started off looking like a good bet and then descended into dullness rather swiftly.
I'm of the opinion that the routines he was given were of uniform dullness until last week, and that his cheeky-chappie character couldn't break through the veneer of 'boring' laid on him by that string of 17 scores. (I'd deny he has no personality - his offering Jason a cuddle was a fab moment ) I think the apathy for Danny will turn into enjoyment now he's started performing a bit better.Kieron, on the other hand, started off a bit rubbish but clearly had a quality that would keep him going, and he's built on that every week. His rather self-deprecating sense of humour could be construed by some as moaning, but I've always seen it as honesty, which is becoming more apparent each week. I won't mention the 'J' word, but Kieron's the closest thing to Chris Hollins on ice that you're likely to see, and as such I can totally understand the love for him.

I wouldn't say that Kieron really started off as that rubbish though - his first week routine to 'Beat Again' was pretty good really from a skating and performance perspective.
![]() I think it's more that as the field has narrowed, he's stood out more and more as someone doing something different from most of the rest. His routines only really work because it's him and Brianne doing them - if they were given to any of the other couples, they'd be total disasters. (The same is true of most of Hayley's routines, but in a different way obviously). Also, I think people have just warmed to him, his self-depricating, dry sense of humour, and the warmth of his partnership with Brianne. Neither of them were really known before the show started, so it's taken time for people to get to know them. |

Actually Kieron and Danny are my favourite two in the competition, for the sheer determination and persistence they've showed. I admire the risks Kieron has taken even when they've resulted in injuries etc, and they have all taken risks, at least on some level. For example Hayley this week was determined to get four spins in when she was only set three by T&D and after a lot of trying and obvious frustration she did it.

. I for instance don't really know who I would like to leave next Sunday (although it depends on the ultimate performance of course).

Cannot warm to Danny at all, have found his routinues forgettable and I enjoy Kierons skating more than Dannys - this certainly doesnt mean that I hate Danny at all

Actually as a set of contestants they are actually really nice this year, and I very much agree with you that everyone is taking risks and pushing themselves without the usual moan-fest

I haven't seen hatred towards Danny. I think the first few weeks people may hae been indifferent to him. But he's come on really well the last few weeks and I really enjoyed this week's routine. I've love to see him in the final with Keiron.
There does however seem to be an increasing amount of negative posting against Keiron. Could this be because Robin said he was someone to watch, the tortoise and the hare comment, and that he was singled out as being good. |
