oMusic TV possibly! Not seen any ads on there. Another channel might be Deluxe Music on Astra 1, but that may have some ads.

All these are FTA very good with no Ads.

MAD BG - Hellas Sat 39e / Mostly dance with some Rnb

Voice BG - Hellas Sat 39e - very good bitrates 16:9 / Rnb / Dance

City TV BG - Telenor 1w - Mostly Rnb with some European music/ Dance

No ads on these channels apart from a nescafe ad for 15 secs every hour. Hellas Sat is very strong!

If you go to Bulgaria all these channels are on the bars very good bitrates and sound quality! Too its very basey like the French music channels use to be.

I got my 19.2E MTV Conax card for 55 inc postage from Sat Europa lasts for 13 Months. Very good worth it just for VH1 Europe.

Ohh talking of FTA MTV Turkey is on 42e very good bitrates has had a really good PartyZone and Chillout recently at weekends.

Mr Tea,

Can you please provide a web-based schedule for 'City TV BG ' so I can see if there is anything worth viewing.

There's far too many ads on UK music channels. I actually think they have increased.

This is a direct result of the increased technical costs and satellite capcity costs that are higher in the UK than some other satellites. Also Astra and Eutelsat all sell the capacity in 's so the exchange rate has seen a increase on UK costs by 30% in 2 years.

However I agree there is a lot of adverts on UK channels.

The Astra 19e versions of MTV Hits, MTV Dance and MTV Rocks are all the same versions that are on Sky even with all the lovley meerkat ads .

The only channels that dont carry ads are on the MTV Unlimited package are VH1 Europe and VH1 Classic Europe. I suppose you could say MTV Music doesnt carry any ads but this channel is very pointless its the same 10 songs on loop.

Thanks for the heads-up - was thinking of getting a MTV unlimited card if they were all ad-free, or if the PQ was better than SY.

Think I'll stick with W9 and Direct Star

With MTV Dance its going to be the same bitrate from 28east.

But the MTV Hits/Two on 19e is nearly up to 10 secs ahead sometimes when you flick to it and compare it with the version on sky. But I couldnt tell you bitrate wise I never watch it.

But nearly all London based MTV channels are a waste of time thesedays those FTA channels mentioned towards the top of the thread on various satellites are alot better. So I would use the money to invest in a motor instead of the mtv card.

But like you said I would stick with the French stuff

On 19 East, we have a slightly better video bitrate (both are ok anyway), worse audio bitrate (192 on 19E, 256 on 28E).
Vh1 Classic Europe has always been without ads, since its launch in 2004. It's one of the reason they split the original Vh1 Classic UK into two separate feeds (UK & Euro). Until 2004 Europe got the UK version.
