Big Brother Breakfast Show.

''Big Brother is set to take over breakfast time this summer - with an extra show every morning.

Channel Four has been struggling to find a winner in its early morning schedules since the Big Breakfast finished.

Flashy RI:SE - with its mix of news, gossip and sport - failed to win viewers, despite its gorgeous presenter Kirsty Gallacher.

But RI:SE did shine with a massive million extra viewers during last year's Big Brother.

Now Channel bosses have given the green light for a special breakfast time version of the show, which they think can win viewers to rival the glory days of the Big Breakfast ........

A Channel Four insider said ........ ''One idea being knocked around is to show some live footage of the contestants getting up each morning. It might be a struggle if anyone swears - but we think it would be a ratings winner. We might even put on some extra challenges - to make sure fans aren't just watching people snoring.''

The Star On Sunday, 18/04/04.

(Not sure if we had this.)

Putting on morning tasks may be the only good idea they have had since BB1!

Will it be a live feed? A BB's Little Brother type show? Or a bit of both? On a personal note, hope they still keep showing 'Everybody Loves Raymond' in a later time.

This is only going to work if they make the lazy buggers get up early, I remember last year's live coverage, they were all sleeping! It made the rest of the programme looks interesting!

The year before we got live feeds of Sandy exercising like a horse, walking around inside the swimming pool and you really don';t want to be watching stuff like that with your shreddies

This does sound like it could bring in the ratings for channel 4-

but it depends .. to have a chance of success I feel it must be a early morning version of bblb.
The show must also have good presenters who like Davina and Dermot ...
1 are actually interested in the show.
2 are fun and interesting yet professional

I would like to see post eviction housemate interviews.Housemate family/friends interviews.Interviews with housemates from bb 1-4,celebrity guests.Lots of highlights of the previous day in the bb5 house and some live coverage if the housemates are awake ...

but even this won't make a good BB Breakfast show if the housemates are boring ....

all the housemates will do is go straight back to bed as soon as the breakfast show is over, they will not stay up on a night because they will be frightened of not being at their best for any tasks/ discusions first thing in the morning, remember most of our best veiwing has been on a night when they have had a couple of drinks, do we really need a brekkie programme ? it will only be a launch programme for another inane presenter.

*splutters coffee over screen*

not being at their best for any tasks?

ARE YOU JOKING? Did you not watch it last year? They couldn't give a monkeys about the tasks (& I point you in the direction of one Federico )

It didn't help that the tasks were badly thought out and boring (I think Tickle was only person who made a real effort with the tasks & he was great) but the rest of them? *shudder*

to be honest it would be even funnier if they all woke up with a hangover! give them all some exercise to do. nothing sounds more appealing than seeing someone throw up whilst you are eating your cereal lol

How can this work? Housemates often sleep in till miday if they have been on a drink binge. At that time of morning they would not dare show them dressing and showering let alone the bad language.

Channel 4's best bet is to have an early morning magazine type show based perhaps on BBLB. Without Dermot. They could use ex BB contestants like Helen,Kate etc to host the show and comment on the unfolding events.

Why make it liveon the off chance? Why not just show anything new that happens the previous evening/night. They also need to put the housemates on it like RISE which means that they need someone who relates to the show. Last thing they want is Dermot and another psychic or hand-print reader.
