There was a thread on BB Fans urging members over there to come over here to disrupt Digital Spy on the grounds that there were a lot of Alex Sibley fans here. The thread was deleted by that site's admin for obvious reasons, but there are copies together with other details.

Several of the contributors to that thread are now members here and I note that they have made a good start. Whilst I appreciate that you may not be a member of BB Fans, as a long standing member of DS perhaps you could consider doing us all the kindness of not fanning the flames.

What is all this drivel about other websites?
What does it matter who is a member of other sites.
It is what is posted here that is important.
I see no reason to venture away from here- this is the Daddy.
Why would anyone start up another site?Is there money in it?
Seems a trifle wierd to me.
What we want is more posters on the one site-ie this one.

The long term outcome of the battle might be determined by who can recruit the next generation of listeners and Kate seemed to be very popular with the 10-25 year olds - she would be the logical next DJ in the line of Pat Sharp and Katie Hill if you wanted people who came with their own readybuilt TV popularity.. It is strange though how we get so many informed reports that turn out to be wrong and how Kate talks about what she wants to do before we know what she will be doing. Most people wouldn't say anything in case they didn't get what they wanted. All of which suggests she is too honest in interviews, or she knows what she is doing or the newspapers really do make it up.”

How did I know that the thrust of this post would be that Capital (or anyone indeed) should give Kate a job.

You're not her agent are you?

Or her mum, perhaps.

the NWB is very knowledgable and does not seem to bother getting involved with arguements.
she must have a life!

if she is an agent-perhaps others could seek out her skills with good effect!

I'm not a member of any other BB site so I wasn't aware of this but if Kate fans on that site really thought that it would be helpful to her to provoke people on here to recall in detail everything they know about her and exactly why they disliked her I think they're daft!

It's the last thing I would want if I was Kate!

It may also encourage people from here to go and join in the aggro there! And how would that help her either.

Well you would say that, wouldn't you? You happen to agree with her! Most of what the NWB is saying is based on her personal 'wish list' for Kate rather than any hard evidence.

The evidence suggests that Kate is a lousey and unpopular presenter on both the TV and on the radio. Both of her shows lost audience share (except when BB was on) and were axed.

It's all a bit too obvious Vilt, that's the problem!

That is just your opinion and is not a fact and not very credible.

The second is an untruth.Other people -not me-indicated that Ri:se doubled its audience for Kate.Ri:se was axed because of the money crisis at Channel 4-other shows were axed also.
Given time and Kate starting to lead the show it would have been a great success in 2004.Channel 4 made a big mistake and they have realised it already.

The radio show was popular but Kate's 1 year contract with capital was up when she was very busy and needed more of a break to pursue her love life(I am sure you can sympathise with that)
.(It also coincided with a change of management at Capital that wanted to make changes for changes sake-and as Kate was out of contract she was cheaper to rest.It is of course not too late for them to realise their mistake-after all they have already lost Tarrant-to lose Lawlington as well would apppear clumsy and indefensible to shareholders in the future.

He was rude and did not like or respect women very much.
I tried to help him.
No doubt he will be back.

I'm a woman, and I saw no evidence of that.

He didn't care for Kate, doesn't mean he didn't like women generally.

One of the good guys IMO.

You really must stop having these fantasies. I researched Capital Radio shares once thinking of buying some. The answer was don't. I looked again after the last (improved) RAJAR but the answer is still no.

If you wanted to spin Kate as a radio DJ it wouldn't be difficult. She has national name recognition, knows the current stars, seems popular with audiences, has lots of younger fans and from what we were told did well in audience figure terms. That might be attractive in an industry where competition is getting ever more intense.

Kate's agent seems to do a fine job. I am mystified though by why we get reports of jobs she hasn't got yet - I used to wonder if Kate or one of Kate's friends had lots of Kate shares on celebdaq and invented stories to get dividends, now I just assume its either something significant on the way or something that is n't significant at all - except for the fact that it shows some editors still think she sells papers.
