I'm sick of the favouritism shown towards precious Hayley, has she ever skated first? No but Daniella often is one of the first to skate.

I hope Hayley falls, though she will probably be given top marks even then..bet they give her a 6 tonight...
My other half has remarked a couple of times about Hayley always being last on, and the same thing used to happen on X-Factor when the "pets" were always last on, thus being easy to remember when it's voting time!

She's not going to be falling over anytime soon and she is definitely the judges' favourite!!!

There's something about Hayley I don't like but that routine was brilliant and they deserved the sixes

My joy at Hayley getting a perfect score was only (nearly) equalled by looking at the main show thread and having to wade waist-deep through all of the spat-out dummies from the Hayley-haters That was sweeeeeet At least most had the good grace to congratulate her
Haha love it!!

If they had put Hayley on first the others would have gone home!
Lol exactly, they definately saved the best till last!!

I think it was fortuitous for the others that Hayley skated last - anyone who followed that might have been at a disadvantage for 2 reasons.

Extra nervous as they watched Perfection on Ice
Routines compared to Hayley and Dan would have inevitably have attracted comparison; subsequently marks might have been lower.
She's not everyone's favourite - what a boring forum this would be if we all felt the same - but sometimes the complaints appear to be moaning for the sake of moaning.

1. Do we watch the same programme?

2. Now is that because it is perceived (?)that she is always on last or because so far her performances have put her in top spot?

Surely the best routine of the night is deserving of due recognition - anything else would be an injustice.

She's been on first - because they have been rotating it so teh same people are not always in the same places. She's been on last or next to last more because you don't want to have your best act on first as people will turn off after it and everything that follows will look weak.

Ray could skate faster but I don't think he did anything else better and if he could act or dance as well he never lived up to his capability because they never wrote him a routine that was as good as the best of Clare, Suzanne, Kyran or Chris.

Hayley has skated first, or very near the beginning anyway. She doesn't always skate last, but so what if she did? That's no guarantee of anything, and it's not necessarily because they're "saving the best til last" and is their way of saying that they want her to win.

She might have been awful tonight, missed the fourth spin, fallen over or anything. I don't think the judges are so fickle that they'd put someone through based on the order of the performance.

And as someone else said - if she went on first and got 30, what would that do to the other skaters?

Hayley was brilliant tonight but it is noticeable that she is always one of the last to skate - I don't think that is altogether enviable though. She has to wait before she goes on and so it gives more time for the nerves to kick in and in my book that is a disadvantage.

I certainly wouldn`t want to follow her for sure !

It's purely a commercial decision. None of these other skaters offer much interest - the producers are clearly concerned that if they put Hayley on first people will then lose interest and turn over.
People used to say that about Ray, but what's the evidence that it actually happens? Was there an unusually large number of viewers Ray's year, so that we can imagine it would have fallen to more usual numbers after Ray's routine???

Guys....I'm DELIGHTED !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm so pleased the Hayley haters have had a wee slice of humble pie !!

How could you have possibly faulted that performance? Everything was utterly perfect...completely mirroring each other...not a foot wrong. I thought she was AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anecdotally, it does happen.

I was ready to switch off when Hayley was done performing. I was bored through the show and the ONLY thing that stopped me from switching off was waiting for her. If she was on at the start I wouldn't have bothered with much of the rest.

It's all about building up people's anticipation.

Had Hayley skated first with her routine tonight, the rest of the show would have felt a bit flat. Even if viewers didn't turn off, they probably wouldn't have enjoyed the show as much as if it finished on the high that it did.

Perhaps it works in the same way when someone`s favourite leaves - I know people who weren`t going to bother watching tonight because Emily was voted out last week.

If Mikey was the public`s favourite perhaps ITV will see the viewing figures dropping next week ?

But maybe a hand? Allegedly?

Only winding you up - she was excellent tonight. She performed a difficult routine perfectly; you couldn't really ask for more. Don't think it was the best routine ever but it was the best of the series by a country mile. I think we may be seeing that one on tour.

I think it works exactly that way when someone's favourite leaves.

Which is why I think, from Hayley's positioning, that she's at the top of the public vote.

I think it's pretty much certain that Mikey wasn't top of the vote this week and I'd hazard he was the only one other than Hayley to be challenging for that position so I'd say you were correct in putting Hayley there, particularly after her performance.

Re: the order -

I'd say it would have been obvious to those behind the scenes that Hayley had a potential show stopper of a routine this week and that she had a good chance of pulling it off. With that in mind, I think the only place she could have been in the order was last for reasons already mentioned. It happened last year with Ray too - I'm sure people will correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember him ever skating first. Second, yes but not first.

The only time that I remember Ray skating early last year was in props week and he seemed to struggle that week in comparison to other weeks.

I thought Ray really raised the bar last year and was better than any of his predecessors. Hayley is a ray of sunshine in a mediocre year. No wonder the judges were excited tonight - it was a great performance.
