Jason and Danny
I was pleased Danny got such good scores tonight, I think he deserved them - but I was a bit taken aback that all Jason could offer by way of comment was some heavy breathing! I thought that was a bit disrespectful to Danny, he should have been awarded marks for his skating, not his chest!

They did make a bit much of Danny's hot bod instead of commenting on the skating and performance which continue to go from strength to strength.
But I shall be rewatching that routine again and freezing it at the appropriate place

Totally agree with you. It is a skating show and the marks should have been awarded accordingly. Seeing Gardiner in a state of arousal was not a pretty sight and made me feel physically sick. He should keep that type behaviour private and not flaunt his sexual preferences on a family TV show. Emma Bunton is guilty of this also - they are both there to judge the skating - it is not a Hot Bod Contest. Outside the television industry their behaviour would be deemed as sexual harrassment.
It was all good natured and Danny took it like that. Let's face it in most workplaces men don't walk around with their shirts off and people aren't paid to mark out of 6 how people do their jobs. |

Yes Sid - that is exactly what I meant. I don't like seeing anyone drooling whether they be straight or gay on a family TV show. And jill 1812 I am not homophoebic - we all know you think Jason is absolutely wonderful but he was being extremely disrespectful to Danny - as was Emma Bunton.

LOL, I thought it was funny.
![]() I don't see it myself (much prefer Gary's looks and build, which won't shock people) but I am very fond of Danny & I'm sure he loved them going gaga. Doubt he was offended tbh. |

I thought it was hilarious ... Jason barely able to string a sentence together. It wasnt disrespectful. Thats what happens when a hot guy dances and skates around practically naked ... all the ladies and gay guys take notice.
I have to say i was having the same reaction at home. Definitely my favourite skate of the night and one i will definitely be downloading from youtube for my collection. Its the first time all series I voted for him. I think hes just become my new fav for the win.

I think Jason was completely OTT!
If anyone was stereotyping gay men it was him by implying that a gay man could not see a fit young man without being overcome by lust. AFAIK you can fancy someone without becoming incapable of coherent rational thought when you are meant to be doing your job and I have always assumed that applies to everyone, male, female, straight, gay - does that make me a homophobe? Also his reactions later when he wouldn't shut up after giving someone a 3 were completely OTT - only this time he was overcome by irrational dislike of someone and was incapable of accepting that he was the odd one out in his opinions. Shouting 'homophobe' whenever anyone doesn't like a gay man is pathetic. |

I didn't mind them commenting on Danny's physique but I did think that it would have been nice to hear more about the quality of the routine as well, otherwise there is a danger that Danny's improvement over the past couple of weeks is overshadowed and he may lose some of the real credibility in the competition that he has gained.

I thought the routine was great, and the topless thing was a really good way of keeping in character, but there was barely a comment on the skill Danny showed during his performance as it was all about the gimmick he'd been saddled with.
It was just about worth it to see Jason lost for words (though I agree the lust angle was a bit distasteful, from Emma as well as Jason), but to be honest, if Danny'd skated in a vest I'd have enjoyed it just as much. Still, you can't knock the lad's physique!

It just irked me that with a panel of five judges to choose from, the vacuous Holly selected the two non skaters who would join in with her fit of the vapours over the sight of a bit of bare flesh.
After the judges comments I was none the wiser as to Danny's skating improvements this week, all they told me was that he had no top on. Well ta, but I could see that for myself |

![]() It would have been nice to balance it out with a comment from a skating judge though. |

He might as well have sat there beating the desk shouting "LOOK AT ME! LOOK AT ME!". Because obviously his weird pirate bucaneer costume wasn't getting him enough attention?! |

I think Jason's comments are quite funny in an annoying way because he really doesn't have any expertise of any sort to bring. So occasionally he makes things up that are meant to sound technical to justify his position as a judge, while most of the time just hurling insults at them.

Jason's comments to Danny amused me.
If Danny had an issue with it (and I'm sure he didn't) he shouldn't have agreed to skate with his top off. He knows that both Jason and Emma are never that shy when it comes to voicing their admiration. |

In general response to the thread, why are some people so scared are gay men expressing their sexuality. If they are quite like Robin it's okay. If they are ott camp but non-sexual it's okay. Bit god forbid they actually show any attraction to someone. People, and by that I mean society in general, need to grow up. |

I have nothing against camp men - in fact I really like them and everyone I know is extremely sweet and charming. Jason's campness does not bother me one iota. What does is his sneering arrogance, bitchy acerbic tongue, attention seeking ways, rudeness and childish behaviour. He behaves like someone who doesn't know when to be quiet and actually listen to someone else. He really does love the sound of his own voice - so much so - he shouts other people down - even when they know more than he does.
I may be very old fashioned but I was brought up that bedroom behaviour be kept to the bedroom and it was out of order to lust so overtly in public. Yes - it was funny seeing Jason drooling, dribbling and so excited that he was practically incoherent but it is also unacceptable social behaviour - but then Jason's behaviour has always socially unacceptable - nasty little bitch that he is. I don't think it is Society that needs to grow up - it is Jason!! |
