You're the one who keeps saying he's definately in the SO each week and you're supposed to be a fan

I'm very pleased he's through, I really enjoyed his performance tonight- was a shame about the spin though!

I think Jason's diatribe against him got him a few extra votes tonight. He is so boring to watch though.

Jason called it right tonight when he said Gary was dull, dull, dull.
Nice bloke, decent skater, but dull dull dull.

But on occasion skaters close to top of the leaderboard have found themselves in the skate off - i.e. Daniella last week; perhaps rather than surmise popularity it's fair to suggest that he is not as unpopular as previously assumed.

He could of finished 5th with the public if Mikey was 4th and Danniella was 6th....................

I am quite surprised he wasn't in the skate off. Also this thread only should of been made if Gary won not survived a vote

Why is that then? Threads can be set up to be supportive of a contestant. Or is it just because you don't like him......?

I hope Gary goes before the final he's as dull as ditchwater to watch. The rest can all put on a good performance, he can't.

Erm... I can make threads in support of whoever I want... I know you feel strongly against Gary though so whatever.

It's detractors like you that make me so relieved as there are plenty on here for Gary

Maybe he did come 5th. Or maybe he came 1st. Fact is, he was in a danger zone & survived.

Indeed he could have but I don't agree that the thread should have been started only if he'd won - unless of course it's within your remit to dictate the subject of threads.

In my honest opinion, I think Gary has a very good chance of becoming runner up. I find his skating ability very good...and he is not exactly bad on the eye. I wish him all the best, and I really hope he does well.

I'm really hoping Gary does well now - along with Kieron who would be my choice for winner.

I definitely have him top of the skating skills and thought his performance was great this week (aside from the spin not working).

Which to my mind goes some way to demonstrating the point of the thread...?

If he hadn't missed that spin he'd probably have received extra half-marks at least from the judges (Robin and Karen would certainly have taken some off for the lack of spin; given his pontificating about doing the element, Jason must have thought about it as well, although I admit I can't vouch for Emma), and thus been second behind Hayley.

I think Gary did a pretty good job with what he was given, created a character who worked in the set-up, and mastered the dance steps he couldn't hope to have done at the beginning of the week. For me that's every bit as laudable as Hayley spending all week mastering Bollywood dance moves.

But if Kieron hadn't missed HIS spin HE would have been higher as well, so may still have beaten Gary!

I really enjoy Gary's performances - his skating is excellent and I don't find him dull at all - his lack of bravado and cockiness makes him endearing if anything.

Gary, Kieron and Danny are quite closely matched really ... they all have different strengths and weaknesses and those will appeal to the public in different ways. I found Kieron incredibly dull to start with but have found myself warming to him. Danny still leaves me cold.
