Well your two seconds of 'positive' things to say about her completely gets lost and canceled out by the list of 'negatives' that follow....so your wasting your time, imo.

But how can you start to criticize the marking and OTT gushing of it, before you even watched the routine? Can you not see how that can be a bit annoying to Hayley fans ?!?

Of course, it had something to do with Hayley, because I had a pretty good idea of what she was capable of from earlier in the series, and because I knew what marks she'd been getting. (If she'd regularly been getting some 6s, then that would obviously make a difference, especially if they'd seemed deserved.)

But my objection wasn't "because it was Hayley" in the way you seem to be suggesting.

As I mentioned back then, I'd started warming to Hayley in recent weeks and I enjoyed her routine the week before. But suddenly it's straight 6s, people saying it was the best DOI routine ever, in a class of its own, standing ovation from the judges -- sorry, but that sort of reaction makes it sound like it was over-praised and over-marked to me.

I'm sick of the gushing for "performers" in these shows.

Danny isn't one, but I still didn't like the way the judges were going on as if he'd made some sort of huge breakthrough because his performance wasn't quite so bad. The only thing that made his marks tolerable was that he'd done the best jump. It would have been outrageous to give him 6s for it, though.

You seem to be confusing comments about the marking, choreography, judges' reactions, etc as with comments about her. I haven't said anything very bad about Hayley.


I have a perfect right to comment on how things DOI seem to me and shouldn't have to keep looking over my shoulder worrying about what fans might think.

As far as best DOI ever routine is concerned I agree with you Veri. Where we part ways is the fact that you came to this conclusion without actually watching the performance, which suggests a preconceived determination to find fault

HUSH HUSH. im not hayley's biggest fan but after seeing that performance im defenitely seeing why she got those marks because her dancing was amazing. the spin was great too.

I didn't like Ray at all, and I think he's over-rated, but if one of his routines had that sort of reaction (best ever, judges stand, straight 6s, etc), it would seem credible to me.

I was better disposed towards Hayley than I ever was towards Ray.

Factually, that's what it was. Factually, you decided that it had faults. If you hadn't decided that there were faults in the routine it wouldn't be overmarked in your eyes. At first I thought you were trolling, and I thought it odd because you had always seemed so balanced before, but now I think you just don't realise how you're acting, or what it means when you say things like that. Which is better, much better, than trolling.

Nonsense. You are not mind-readers. I am the only person who knows how I actually was thinking. It is not at all the same sort of case as the sun going around the earth.

Besides, saying or implying that a forum member is lying or deluded is not the sort of thing that's supposed to be done in this forum. So I do think that people ought to give it a rest and not insist that someone isn't telling the truth about their own thoughts.

Reacting to what's said and reported (e.g. that the judges gave a standng o.) -- which is what I did -- is not a preconceived determination to do anything.


Not even that is true. I don't think the marking is all about taking away for faults or errors, and I've even said so.

I also think your post is playing rather fast and loose with the word "decide". "Decided" implies that it was consciously considered, but people believe all sorts of things without ever deciding about them.
