It is pretty good. The only part that grates on my last nerve is Gizzi! She seems to have a high opinion of herself and is always posing. She also shows a lot of partiality to certain contestents. It’s so blatantly obvious if she likes someone or not and not just in her critique of their dishes. I must say the look on her face when she rings that bell makes me laugh every time. Such determination! Or is the bell that heavy?...LOL. Corrigan does seem a bit harsh at times, but then again, it is refreshing to see instead of pandering to them when they don’t do well, as in some other cooking programmes. I believe it was last week, when one of the contestants was so upset with his comments that she became focused to get it right and she did because of it. I would like to see another season, but with a replacement for Gizzi. |

I love Iron Chef, not that poor UK version. But the one that is shown at 4pm every night on Food Network.
It amazes me that the Chairman is playing by Martial Arts Mark Dacascos. I love waiting for the Secret Ingredients reveal. Tonights secret ingredient is BEER!!!!! ALLEZ CUISINE!

I am quite enjoying Cookery School as well.

I believe it was last week, when one of the contestants was so upset with his comments that she became focused to get it right and she did because of it. I would like to see another season, but with a replacement for Gizzi. One episode which really grated was her telling a guy (pretty arrogant that he is) off because he flambéed a certain way, but when she was telling him to do it another way he couldn't do it properly - when judging she said he wasn't doing it the way chef had shown them. But I rewound the episode and it was exactly the same way chef did it. Now the guy is a bit of a prat but she wrongly and unfairly judged him at this point. |

She's changed a lot over the years. On her first tv appearances she was shy & nervous (probably understandable) but I thought it suited her better as people would warm to her.
She's come out of her shell and is probably OTT for some now. TBH I don't see her on many shows these days. Here are a couple of her appearances on Taste http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAfnNn9mcnk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hp1Z-az4mXg |

It's a bit like The Hairy Bikers. They have become very annoying and although I still watch some of their shows I tend to skip alot of them these days. One thing I do like about both though is their un-ponsyness. They like down to earth food and show how to cook it with simple recipies. |

Britain's Best Dish Quote:
New series of the cookery competition. The contest starts in the South East. Which amateur cooks will be in with a chance of getting their dish onto the menu at The Savoy?
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1431245Great British Menu Quote:
Great British Menu is back, and the competition is fiercer than ever as the nation's top chefs are being challenged to cook for the ultimate street party. Last year, up to one million people took part in The Big Lunch - a nationwide one-day event that encourages people to cook and eat with their neighbours. Inspired by this, our chefs are battling to create spectacular sharing platters, dishes that will get everyone talking, proving that food has the power to bring us all together, for the most magnificent street party ever held. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/s....php?t=1457328
Each week three chefs battle it out in the kitchen, for a chance to cook at the banquet and a veteran of the competition will taste and score their dishes every day. The pressure is on, as only two chefs can make it through to cook for the Great British Menu judges at the end of the week and one will be going home on Thursday. |

Michelin Stars - The Madness of Perfection
8pm on Good Food There's passion, pressure and obsession as food writer William Sitwell investigates chefs chasing the accolade of being Michelin-starred. I've seen this on BBC2 before. Interesting story about a chef who comitted suicide because he lost a star. |

The Prison Restaurant
BBC1 10:35 PM, Tuesday 26th April 2011 The Clink is a restaurant with a difference. The menu may sound mouthwatering, but the paying customers at this classy establishment tuck into their crab, lobster and coq au vin knowing that most of the staff are convicted criminals. This unique and controversial rehabilitation scheme, set within the walls of HMP High Down Prison, aims to transform prisoners into fully trained chefs and waiters. The film follows fiery head chef Al as he employs three new inmates who are struggling to change their lives and turn their backs on crime. |

Perfect...
What's the secret behind a perfect roast dinner, can anything beat macaroni cheese for a simple supper, and is there a place for fresh fruit in a victoria sponge filling? It's up to our celeb chefs to find out on Perfect..., a brand new show kicking off at 7pm, Monday May 2. http://uktv.co.uk/food/homepage/sid/8751 Episode 1 - Chinese Legendary Chinese chef Ken Hom and rising star of Asian cookery Ching He Huang will be cooking perfect Chinese cuisine tonight. Classic: What better way to kick off the show than with a chow mein? Both our chefs opt for this classic noodle dish for the first category, but which will the judges prefer - Ken's Hong Kong style, or Ching's chicken and mushroom? Simple: Ken likes nothing more than a simply steamed fish Cantonese style, whereas Ching prefers beef in an oyster sauce. Both come with fried rice, of course. Ultimate: Ken and Ching see the episode off with food fit for a Chinese banquet. But which will impress the most - Ken's crispy pork belly in lettuce cups, or Ching's fragrant duck? |
