Sometimes the choreographers (T&D???) don't listen to the judges.....
The panel in series 1 repeatedly picked up Bonnie about the lack of skating in her routines (although they gave her high marks regardless because of the WOW! performances) - she was told week after week that she needed to spnd more time on the ice rather than in lifts - but week after week she came out and did big lift after big lift followed by the headbanger to finish. The choreo didn't do her any favours - but having actually seen her doing her jump and solo bit without having Matt to hang onto - her weak skating was very obvious - Bambi could have shown her how it was supposed to be done.... But really that sort of inconsistency between the judges and the people who devise the routines should never have been allowed to reach the point where it becomes evident to viewers. Either lift-packed routines with little skating are perfectly ok and deserve high scores, in which case the judges should mark and comment accordingly, and the deserving aspects of lifts should be explained to viewers, or the skaters should not be given such routines. Perhaps the producers feel they shouldn't tell the judges how to mark and shouldn't tell T&D & whoever helps them what sorts of routines to create, but those people still ought to be able to work something consistent out on their own. |

The judges may have thought that Bonnie should do more skating but it didn't stop them placing her top of the leaderboard virtually every week and gushing over her performances. Not particularly an incentive to change one's habits really - if it doesn't appear to be broke, why fix it? |

Personally, I'm at the anyone but Hayley would be a travesty stage.
I'd really like someone to offer some serious competition to her for the sake of the show, but at the moment none of the others is close to her, so for me she is the one most deserving to win. I agree that Gary is probably the better technical skater, but he struggles to put in a performance, Dannielle has stopped progressing, Keiron is improving and is good to watch, but is still not at Hayley's standard. Danny I don't really rate, but then I don't really like him or Frankie so that could be biasing me where his skating is concerned. I just want to see more routines of the quality of Jai Ho, whether from Hayley or others I don't mind, but I can't actually see anyone but Hayley delivering. |

His skating is not that good. He tends to do more skating but that's simply because he cannot deliver on complex routines so he gets the simple skate around the rink with your partner routine with a few simple moves in it. Kerien gave a very credible performance last week but its the first one he has delivered, whether he can repeat it remains to be seen. Hayley really needs some real competition to really encourage to keep improve. I think she works at it pretty hard but nothing will drive you as much as if you think there is some one chasing your hard for first place |

With regards to Hayley improving - when I watched Just Dance and compared it to Jai Ho, I was struck by how weak her skating was in comparison, and how sluggish some of her dance moves were. I would actually put Hayley as one of the most improved ice dancers.

It seems to a casual onlooker that the rabid fandom and the irrational dislike just about cancel each other out.

I especially agree with this part of the above post - "I'd really like someone to offer some serious competition to her" - and not only for the sake of the show. It would give me far greater pleasure to see someone else, especially Kieron or even Gary, produce a routine that was way better than anyone thought they were capable of, even if they never matched it again. |

I really like Hayley and think she has done really well. I like Dan anyway. But last week I was getting really worried for Daniella as she was in the skate off for the second week running. I don't want to see her going out of the competition. But she has lost some of her flair that she had and I don't undertstand why? It must be off putting being the skate off for the second week running.

I would find it highly offensive if anyone but Hayley won because her skating and performance shits over the others

But since we are voting for our favourite and not for who is the best skater/performer it would be perfectly fine by me if someone else won, like lovely Kieron for example who is far and away above Hayley on my favourites list!

I think Hayley is the better skater but prefer if Kieron won. Just find the Dan/Hayley partnership a bit too smug.

I don't mind too much if Hayley wins in the end. I'd really like Kieron to get to the final at least though. And a surprise upset would be fun!
![]() I'd prefer Hayley to any of the other three though. |

See, I just don't get the smugness accusations. She's not complacent, she's always grateful for the positive comments she receives, seems genuinely nervous in the line up when the SO is being announced, and genuinely happy and relieved when she gets through.
Cheesey and perhaps irritatingly, gratingly over-enthusiastic I can see, but smug and arrogant I simply cannot. |

I do hope you are not one of those people who moaned about Colleen and The Doc being kept in, after all they were someone's favourite. Now if one of those had won, this forum would have been up in arms.
![]() I did moan about Coleen who clearly believed her own hype and thought she was so great on ice and used her injuries to get out of doing the required element and begged for votes daily on her show despite moaning all the time and bringing up her age each time, like we should all vote for her because of that. She was a narcissistic, nauseating person and I couldn't see how anyone could like her personality on the show regardless of how pathetic her skating was. Phew - glad to get that off my chest! ![]() Hayley is a breath of fresh air by comparison. |
