"Sugafakes" Haha I love it.

People need to accept on here that some people DON'T like the new line up and we are in our right to say so.
FINALLY THE VOICE OF SANITY, WELCOME

Fine...but don't you also need to accept that some people will disagree? Are they not free to debate the topic?

I actually prefer the new line up!! Never a huge fan of Keisha anyway!! Jade's voice suits the newer stuff more than Keisha for me - I can see people's point about the new line up singing the old stuff but to be fair Sugababes is the band name, it doesn't "belong" to the previous members - you've got to expect Sugababes 4.0 to sing stuff from line-ups 1,2 and 3 or they'll be able to sing a very limited number of songs compared to what they can actually sing!! There will be people who won't accept the new line up no matter what but then again there's people who like the new line up....like me!!

And that's fair enough but those who don't like the new line up are getting personally attacked for voicing their opinions. (myself included in other threads )

I love the name Sugafakes. I think it sums it up nicely. Prefer if I didn't have to see the new lineup. Hoping they will go away soon.

They have been very fair and said the won't do 1.0 songs and will only catalogue Freak Like Me onwards from when Heidi was in the band

Are they Sugababes? Aren't they Sugababes? Should they change the name? Should they not perform old tracks?

Who knows...more to the point who cares. All I know is that "Sweet 7" is their best album in a long while. Heidi Range to me has always been the best member of the group anyway - After all, they really became succesful/known since she joined the group.

But I don't get calling them fake. Their label owns the name, always have done, so what is fake about it? It's just a name they perform under. Call them something else if you like. It doesn't alter the fact that currently, they are making good music.

As long as they don't cover Aerosmith's Walk This Way. Them with Girls Aloud cover was really showing people how not to do a cover version. It so dire. My ears started to bleed....

Wow. All this over Freak Like Me? It was utter shite when Sugababes first recorded it and will be now. The ONLY version that should be commented on is the amazing version by Tru Faith and Dub Conspiracy.
As for the members, WHO CARES?! Every single "song" that has had the Sugababes name on it has been crap. At least the latest one is half-way decent.

The label doesn't own the name, that's why there's all this discussion.

According to Universal they do. As far as I know, when Keisha, Mutya and Heidi signed with Universal, that also included the name.
Mutya's application hasn't been accepted and until then, Universal own it.

So Keisha was the only reason you ever liked the band then?

I find it amazing that Heidi was always polled as the most popular member pre October 2009 while Keisha was always seen as the least fave with fans!

To me Heidi may not have been there in the first line up but is more a Sugababe than Siobhan ever was. If the band were so great with Siobhan they would have had more success. FACT is they didn't have any success until Heidi. It was her who made them mainstream whether people like it or not because she was the tabloyd friendy face that appealed to the wider audience. Mutya and Keisha were too cold. And still are which is why they can't sell solo records. Without Heidi the Sugababes would have been a long forgotten brand.

Erm, yes, the label DO own the name. Mutya tried to file a court case to claim it back - and failed miserably.

Yawn! I can't believe that people still haven't got over Keisha's departure. Move on, people and obsess about something else.

Oh caren197, if you seriously think Mutya Buena had any chance of winning her case, you were grossly misinformed.

Siobhan's replacement could have been any pop puppet and they still would have been successful.
