Took his life last weekend. Sparklehorse, was Linkous. He wrote, played and produced some of most imaginitive, melancholic and beautiful music of the last 20 years. 4 albums all beautiful.

Very sad. Sparklehorse were a genuinely creative and wonderful band.

A truly sad loss

Among all the vapid shit and fake flash in the pan rubbish that gets endlessly debated on these boards, heres the passing of a musician and true artist who shows into sharp focus how crappy and disposable most music is

I've been listening to VivaDixie.... pretty much since i heard. Got 'Gasoline Horseys' on right now and my thoughts go out to his family.

I only heard about his death last night and I cried too. Such a sad, sad loss. I've loaded all four albums into the CD player and they're on in rotation. Just listened to Gasoline Horseys too. R.I.P

A sad loss indeed, I've also been playing my old Sparklehorse albums over the last few days - he produced some truly brilliant music.

Absolutely gutted,
Just loved his music, the low fi buzz of retro instruments weaving in and out of consciousness, the rambling lyrics bleeding with nature and stark honesty. The music gave a almost spiritual hum without the religious nonsense.

R.I.P Mark
Thanks for the music
