My Chemical Romance - when they brought out the Black Parade, I was so disappointed.

Also Linkin Park - anything after Meteora I don't really rate.

Bon Jovi - now middle of the road dirge.

RHCP - were better when they did drugs.

Robbie Williams - now a crap, egotistical, overrated pub singer. IMO of course.

Totally disagree. Her best albums Music, Ray of Light, American Life and Confessions on a Dancefloor are the best ones.

And even though Hard Candy wasn't the ebst -tunes like 4 minutes and Give It 2 Me are still great music.

Ray of Light is quite a boring album imo, apart from the singles.

I agree with this, it's truly an awful album singles aside.

I'm trying to think,

I really loved Timblands first album, the new stuff is ridiculous.
Also i've kinda fallen out of love with Pussycat Dolls.
I know there's a lot i just cannot think at the minute.

As they say on the X Factor 'you nailed it'.

Pretentious and up her own ass-always was but worse now than ever.

Does'nt like some of her old songs so wont perform them. It was her old songs that put her where she is.

I used to like the Kaiser Chiefs. Can't stand them now. Same goes for Razorlight.

Thank god my tastes changed...

Lenny Kravitz loved his first 5/6 albums, but the last 2 not to happy about.

King of leon last album was ok but its was to much radio friendly and not the old KOL sound I know from Mollys chambers, King of the rodeo and Knocked up.

As another FM said Bon Jovi last few albums are like what the hell. Im mean what happen to to rock side of them it seam like the shit got kicked out of them and they are now playing for the old peoples home.

I realised they lost it when they finally agreed to go on X Factor as the warm up act for JLS last year.

And I would slate Jon Bon Jovi for singing on Helping Haiti, but cos it was for charity I suppose I can let him off.

No they lost it long before that, but that was a very sad time as well.

I mean this band was great what with songs like Always, Keep the faith, Bed of roses, One wild night and Its my life etc and now we got this soft crap like Lost highway (should have been called lost the bloody way).

These Days was the last good Bon Jovi album.

TLC - They really did turn crap when Left Eye died. 3D was quite terrible on the whole (with only a few decent tracks).

Alanis Morisette - Well, I only really like Jagged Little Pill. Nothing else she has done has came close to it.

Prodigy - I love them, but I haven't really paid much attention to their recent offerings.

Sugababes - Well, I never really liked them as they are. I only liked their first release. After that they became marketed pop whores.

The White Stripes - After Elephant I lost interest.

Kasabian - Album 1 was great, album 2 was hit and miss so I also lost interest.

Missy Elliot - I was a fan up until (after) Miss E... So Addictive and then everything she's done ever since has been pretty much the same, boring old stuff.

Just about everything I listened to when I was 14 and 15, save from a couple who stopped me from turning into a complete "teenager".

Sugababes - not just because of the line-up changes, but their recent songs are just generic, faceless, faux-sassy pop. I heard the new album yesterday morning and it was all exactly that.

I haven't read through this thread but I'm guessing Sugababes are one of the most frequently mentioned

I see Madonna getting mentioned a lot here. Personally, I'd say her best album was Erotica, which came out in the early 90's IIRC, though to be fair she has made some great albums (and also some bad ones ) since then, with Hard Candy being the worst IMO.

The good thing about Madonna is that she will sample current trends but create something quite idiosyncratic with it. Looking back at her singles, they kind of sound products of their time but equally and more importantly, they sound quite unique to the music that was being produced around that era- a song like Erotica for instance is a totally unique song, unlike anything else that was being produced around that time.
The trouble with Hard Candy is that it didn't 'sample' from it's genre but parodied it - this is probably due to Madonna (unconventionally) handing over a certain amount of creative control to other artists - it didn't work and out of all her work HC will probably become to sound the most dated.

No doubt she will come back with something better next time around...the biggest problem for me now is her image.

Hard Candy proved something of a double whammy, not only was the music substandard IMO but we also had all the incidents with the adoption, divorce and her new toy boy lover. This was also another new low for Madonna - where previously she could control the media by taking those negative portrayals and turn them around to her advantage, creating her own media event that negated the negatives - this time around, there was nothing, what we were left with was a rather nasty image of her.

Have to admit, my opinion of her dropped dramatically, to the point where my appreciation for her work has been effected. This has also happened for me with REM. As soon as Stipe decided to become the new Mrs. Bono then my appreciation of them dropped and not just their new material but I can barley listen to their old stuff any longer. So I guess for me, the image of an artist is perhaps the biggest and fastest way of me losing interest.

Totally agree-Erotica was the best album she ever did, followed by Like a Prayer (it was terribly underated).

I did'nt bother with HC nor the recent greatest hits album. Not gonna throw my earnings away on her anymore unless the product is special.

She will probably try to emulate Ga Ga next which would be terribly embarrassing.

After seeing the Telephone video I think Maddy should throw in the towel and let the new girl take over.

The other thing that I think is sad about her is that unlikely Kylie, who is maturing with her years in a very classy way, Madonna does'nt seem to understand how to do this and she looks like a freak. OK Kylie is 10 years younger but nevertheless.

Admittedly, Madonna's a interesting one.

She's always had a successful career and it's important for her to stay at the top, although this now means sullying her image by playing second fiddle to current pop sensations (something that also puts me off a band, Pet Shop Boys are extremely guilty of this).

But then what can she do? Would Madonna still be a relevant and credible artist if she started releasing albums and singles that failed to chart, regardless of the quality of the material? Could she settle for creativity over commercial success? I'm not so sure.

Personally, I don't think she should pack it in just yet, the world would be a much duller place with the Cruella DeVill of pop around. But would I still buy her music? I'm not so sure on that one either.

Me too. I tried with Exciter and Playing The Angel and although there were a couple of songs that grabbed me, I found the albums to be fairly dull. I didn't bother listening to the last album at all.

Erasure were another band I lost interest in after Wild.
