Good on him. The guy obviously has true musical talent, and deserves all the success he receives.

His music is hollow.

Good for him. It's pretty hard to break into the US so it's great he managed to!

And to think Cheryl Cole turned this song down to record Fight For This Love! Well done to Taio Cruz! It's gotta be Alexandra Burke next though! I really hope Bad Boys gets to #1 when she releases there...

But to be fair, it would of been a major contridction for Cheryl to release a song about saying how she is gonna break someone heart, when her husband broke her heart a year earlier and then did it months later after releasing Fight for this love.

Good point, but the song was to good to pass on in my opinion. Its almost as bad as Christina Milian rejecting SOS which later got recorded by Rihanna and made her into a star.

I wouldn't say it was too good to pass. The press would have easily criticised her in releasing a song saying she is gonna break someone's heart. If she had released it and then Ashley cheated on her, the press would have a field day taking the mickey out of her and the press would have no sympathy for her.

It's good she chose not to do a song she wouldn't sing. Cheryl has said in interviews that this is album is fully her and what she likes to sing about.

*chokes* I'm pleased for him and everything, but, wow, what a statement

Obviously, I'm glad someone British has gotten the US number one, but I just feel that Break Your Heart is one of the worst songs to represent Britain musically. Surely there are better songs from British artists to go number one in the US?

2010 could be a big year for British acts in America. Taio, Alexandra, Cheryl, JLS, Estelle etc.

Or what she's paid the songwriters to say about her...I'm sorry but her album is boring and half the songs are a joke now that her marriage has ended. The press already had a field day with Fight For This Love calling it a 'cry to Ashley' and 'an attempt to save her marriage'.

congratulations to him but much like Estelle or Jay Sean this would do nothing without a an established star being featured.

His album sales will show whether he truly broke through or not.

Good for him but I have to say 'Break You Heart' is one of the worst number 1's we had last year, I was amazed it got to number 1 here and even more amazed it got to number 1 in the US. Clearly I am in the minority but it's just plain awful but I imagen he will be a one hit wonder like over here. I'm just so glad Cheryl didn't use it.

This^^

He is incredibly overrated, but those songs with the repetitive chorus' are always successful, cos they burrow into your brain like sodding earwigs!

Same with FFTL, I Need You, She's So Lovely, Everybody In Love, Look For Me etc..

Don't get me wrong, I quite like She's So Lovely and Look For Me, but I understand they can get annoying.

I think Taio Cruz is underated personally. I don't really hear many people talking about him and it's not like his albums have sold hundreds of thousands or anything, although I wish they had lol.

Anyone have this song on their computer? I'd love to add it to my playlist for my 18th birthday party but I can't get it anywhere would be grateful.

I see the American video version on that link, has Ludacris at the beginning and in the middle of this song now, also I think the music backing is slightly different.
