I've never had one and I am going to rectify that this week I always assumed it was just fish fingers on bread but today I read a post describing a ffs with cheese and mayo (can't remember the thread) and that sounds really appetizing. What makes for the ultimate fish finger sandwich?

Tartare sauce would probably give it a nice tang, a la a Filet'o'Fish from MaccieD's.

Fish fingers on bread, with ketchup.

Why would you put mayo on anything? It only nulls the taste lol. Mayo is the devil.

It has to be down to personal taste

Personally I like fish fingers, no butter and mayo

Why not try variations, fish fingers aren't that expensive, and find out what you like best

How strange, I had one tonight.

I put some salad in with mayo and ketchup

Highly recommend the new salmon fish fingers that Birdseye do, they are really nice!

You want a big soft barmcake, your fish fingers, some mushy peas and loads of salt and vinegar, finished with a big dollop of tomato ketchup or tartare sauce.

I'm planning to cut out processed food from my diet very soon so it may well be a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Who am I kidding?

I have mine with tartare sauce - but I prefer to have the fishfingers cold (obviously cooked first though!)

Tesco were selling pre-packaged fish finger sandwiches for a limited period recently.

They were nicer than you might think.

(Before a certain person bothers posting, I'm quite aware I could make fresh fish finger sandwiches at home and besides, fish fingers are full of saturated fat yadda, yadda, yadda! :yawn

your going to get reported lol

this sounds utterly minging but i like bread with a smearing of instant mash, fish fingers and some good old parsley sauce.

Now this is off topic but has anyone tried cream crackers, philidelphia and a smidgen of strawberry jam..it was a drunken concoction invited by my brother but it is delicious even when sober
