So what happened to the actors from this?

Gian Sammerco (Adrian) is now a psychiatric nurse, but what about the others?

That's his dad.

No idea what happened to Lulu or Julie Walters who played his mothers

This hasn't aged well at all - I got the DVD's of the whole series a few months back. It was nostalgic viewing - but badly written and acted. Didn't realise Chris Gascoyne (Peter Barlow) was Barry Kent.

And was about the only member of the cast that had a Leicester accent.

That really annoyed those of us that were natives and living there at the time that most of the cast used a Brum accent.

It never managed to translate the brilliance of Sue Townsend's books. Neither did the more recent version. I'm not sure why, but I think part of the fun of the books lies in their structure. The 'diary' allows for things to be revealed and dealt with at a pace that TV doesn't allow.

BTW, the new Mole book, 'The Prostate Years', is fantastic. I highly recommend it.

Oh My Gosh - Steven Moore was the voice of Marvin from HHGTTG radio and tv series... 'I'm sooo Depressed, I'm not bringing you down, am I?'

I didn't realise that either until the other day when I was reading an article in the paper the other day about Chris Gascoyne. Straight away I though 'Of course!'

Lindsey Stagg played Pandora, what became of her is a mystery as there is little online about her other than she hated the filming of the series

I gather the whole experience was far too much for her and she never acted again.

A shame, because she was superb.

The Secret Diary was released on DVD in Holland. Both series are 'available' in the usual places.

I liked it but I was v young and a child of the 80's so I wouldn't use my opinion as gospel!

Most things around that time didn't age well

Yes, they tried to do a new version following Adrian Mole & The Weapons Of Mass Destruction, with Stephen Mangan and Helen Baxendale. It didn't really work.
