I just think it's a situation that should have been avoided by all concerned. I wish him all the best in the contest though - I'm relying on him to beat Gary!

So no, if it had been Kieron's dad, I would have felt exactly the same way.

Thanks for clarifying it and for not being offended.

I'll always have my feather with me now, and if someone threatens me, they'll better watch out (me and my feather are invincible).

By the way, your routine suggestion for Danny and Frankie this week sounds very exciting, lets hope the producers are picking your suggestion up. By the way, I don't think young Danny would fare very well against Frankie.

I doubt many would. I reckon that girl punches above her weight.

I certainly would not want to meet her in the dark or get on her wrong side.

That's okay - I realise reading some of my posts some people might have presumed I hated Danny or something, which really couldn't be further from the truth.

Really, if they had me doing these routines, rather than Chris and Jayne, things would be much more exciting! Or violent, anyway...

I haven't read the entire thread so apologies if someone's already pointed this out but the original Sun article appears to have been deleted.

I wonder why?

Leslie Grantham who shot and killed a man, still ended up a well-loved soap actor for many years, despite the fact that his crime was well documented.

Likewise, if Danny's dad served his time for the crime and hasn't been in trouble since, then he deserves a second chance -- that's the law of a civilzed society. And as most have mentioned, we don't know the full circumstances surrounding the crime.

Ooh, it has, hasn't it. I wonder if ITV got to them or something?

Or they got their facts wrong, possibly?

Ah, I wondered if someone would mention Mr Grantham. His character in Eastenders wasn't exactly violence free was he? Anyone have a problem with his acting roles and the fame/notoriety they brought him despite his past?

As others have said, the law in this country means that once someone has served their sentence, they should be able to be rehabilitated fully back into society. Possibly human feeling might dictate that certain actions may not be wise or considerate but that doesn't necessarily mean they should be forbidden.

Danny is not responsible for his dad's actions in the past, nor should he condemn him in the present.

The story seems to no longer be in the link, so not a lot I can debate here other than reading what others have said, and see this as something of a non story as to Danny's father helping him in training, because that is all he seems to have been doing?

Glad someone mentioned Leslie Grantham, and I expect there may be others in the acting profession and such, whose pasts may not be whiter than white either.

Yes, I couldn't find it either. Unless it has been moved to a different link?

Can't find the article anywhere on the sun website. Given this, I don't think I will say anything as it looks like whatever was put in the public domain may not be accurate.

As they pulled the article, and so quickly, I was wondering the same, Tiger Rose. That or the family themsleves may have complained about the news article.
