To cut a long story short, my dog had to have an x-ray today, she's now home but is whimpering and shaking more or less constantly. I phoned the vets before and was told that it's most probably a common reaction to the pre-med they gave her before the general anaesthetic and she will calm down within 24 hours.

I would like a little advice please from anyone on here who has a dog who has had the pre-med called ACP. What was your dog like after it? etc... Cheers.

I dont know much about it but what i have just read. Could you tell me what sort of breed your dog is? I would the watch your dog tonight and if you are not happy how your dog is phone back or take your dog in.

It shouldn't be used with epileptic dogs and short-nosed breeds, according to what I've just read, nor those with a heart condition.

Cross breed. She's stopped whimpering and shaking now so hopefully she will be fully recovered from the drips and x-rays soon enough.

so glad. It shouldnt be used on boxers either tha is why i asked the breed
