DHD 4000 - Stopping archiving once started
Nailz
11-03-2010
I started archiving a film and realised I missed the start whilst trying to find a blank DVD. I can't stop the archiving at all by pressing any of the usual keys (stop, back, exit, red, select etc).

Does anyone here know how to stop an archive once started or do I just have to let it play all the way to the end ?

Some while ago I had the same situation as you did and couldn't find a way to stop it, short of pulling the plug out, which I decided not to do.

I don't recall ever reading of a way to do this either.

Nope, dont think you can stop it gracefully once it has started.

Thanks. No big deal really as I only archive things occasionally.
It's a handy little function for backing up TV shows to DVD.

Yes true, although I've recently added a Sony DVD/HDD recorder to the stack under the telly and anything that I plan to put onto DVD I use the Sony for because of the ease of use.
Most recording though has stayed with the DHD4000 because of the twin tuners and I've gotten used to the on-screen guide (now if only it had series link).

I don't really miss series link. I just use the option to record 'D'aily or "W"eekly.

I know this can be a problem if the programme time is changed, but this is unusual. And what if I miss a programme? Hey, it's only TV!
