Can someone explain to me why some women shave their eyebrows off and draw a line in place?

When has that ever looked good?

I have no idea.

Ha-Ha-Ha, being a woman who has never shaved her eyebrows off & painted them back in using a really cheap-crap so-called 'eyebrow pencil' I'm loving the fact that someone has said what I've been thinking for so long now.
Honestly, there have been the odd few occasions (who am I kidding, there have been way plenty) where I've often asked the very same question, which was.. wait for it..
"Where did you go to clown school?"

It's bizarre, and (particularly on the more mature lady) looks awful.

Have you ever been in a situation where a thought has cropped up in your mind & before you know it, you've blurted it out, regardless of the effect it may have on the recipient? Well, let's just say that the 'workplace' probably isn't the best place to have this happen, ya know where I'm going with this.
Whatever though, I'm still laughing my butt off about this hee-hee

Ooh, trust me. The maturity level doesn't really come into it. It aint a good look regardless of age.

Fanny Craddock looked quite ridiculous

She sure did. But I believe your missing the point.. Why shave off your eyebrows that are going to grow back whether you like it or not & then attempt to pencil in a 'better version' with a cheap kohl eyebrow pencil? I reckon it must be one of those 'good idea's at the time - but didn't realize that it would take several times a week (if not more) to keep up the pretence.

I dunno. I thought a more natural eyebrow look was more the norm these days anyway?

If you did try washing them off, she would of looked like she'd attended one class at said 'clown school'

Agree that elderly ladies look a bit strange but I prefer the wiggly pencil line on them than I do on younger women where you can you always see by the bone structure where the eyebrow should be.

Basically, years ago the "pencil thin" eyebrow was in fashion so load of women over-plucked their eyebrows to get the look.

However eyebrows don't always grow back properly so you are then left having to keep on doing it forever or else you have no eyebrows at all

About eight years ago I had a girlfriend who did exactly this.

My mate Rich and I would sit about and debate why she did this and could never come up with an explanation that fitted, or seemed logical. So the conclusion must be that it isn't logical?

She also could never seem to draw hers so that they matched so she would have odd shaped eyebrows!

I seriously don't know anyone who actually does this in real life!

I think that the Eyebrow Template is the way forward for these kind of antics.

yes tweezing with thin cotton

it doesnt hurt more than wax, its seems the be less stressful to my skin and i never get and rashy type spots as i used to with wax. It also gives a really good look.
Try it, there are threading salons popping up everywhere, i get mine done in Selfridges mostly.

They always draw them too high as well so they look constantly surprised.

There's a lady who lives near me in her late 60s who puts something sticky (I think it's vaseline) to hold the stray hairs in place, then draws massive arches over the top, and all her foundation sticks to the goo. As well as using what I assume is lipstick as blusher. She looks like a clown with some freaky skin condition
