Who thinks the female winner campaign was stupid? I think it was stupid because if the public were so bothered w/ a female winner and gender equality, then why didn't Melinda win CBB2? Why didn't Anoska/Sissy/Tania win BB4? Of course, the public could've learnt from their mistakes from BB3, letting Kate win, but not all females are an alcoholic, flirtatious, idiotic, fake loudmouth. So whaddya think?

I agree with you, it was being drummed into us all the time, that a girl should win. In fact a few people I know were taken in by it and voted for Kate purely for that reason and that reason only, from the final four. Admitting they preferred Alex but felt it was time for a girl to win, but since then a few of them have said, they wished they had never wasted their votes on her. At least we don't have to suffer her on our tv's any more though

People should not have been manipulated into voting for a girl to win, the whole point is to vote for favourites, people who entertained you, not be pressured into voting for who endemol want you to vote for.

If what you are saying is true, then were people manipulated into keeping Alex in the house when he was up against Spencer?? There was a lot of speculation at the time that Spencer was edited unfairly that week and most people were shocked that Alex won the vote.

What's Alex against Spencer got to do with with Kate being promoted to the public by Endemol to win BB3, just because they wanted a girl to win that year ? please explain ? On second thoughts don't, your post won't make an iota of sense, I have come to expect this of your posts. Let's just leave it at, you secretly love Alex and use every opportunity to talk about him.

I wasn't shocked at all! I wasn't on the net then ..just an individual sitting at home watching BB...I had no idea Spencer was popular with anyone anywhere! I found him dull and rather odd...I assumed it would be a forgone conclusion he would go..my only shock was how close the vote actually was

I was very aware of the campaign for a girl winner though..and it annoyed me really, as I didnt feel Kate had been at all entertaining..infact for most of BB she had been drapped around Spencer and I thought she would go very early...suddenly all the celeb pundits were rooting for Kate and all the talk was of "the first female winner"..I couldnt see what on earth they were on about and just assumed it was an organised campaign....

Infact I was so annoyed I voted for the person I felt deserved it most, which was Alex..and I'd never voted on any TV show before EVER!...and never will again

The real winner as always was Endamol and channel 4

All the early press coverage was pro female winner from the start, as well as the C4 programmes. It was, is this the year for a female winner?

This year they are more likely to be looking for an ethnic minority winner, as we have already had the working-class, gay, female and christian virgin.

BB is all about manipulation of the housemates and includes the viewers as well.

I think you'll find anyone who watched BB3 , BBLB ect. at the time, if they are honest, will remember the constant "first female winner" and it has been mentioned before in the press and many times on various BB forums!...

FACT.............Kate was picked to win within the first few weeks by Endemol because they were desperate for a female winner............Sunita done a runner, Jade was the most unpopular HM in BB history and the public vote put Lynn just behind her, Alison was first out, Adele was hated, Soppy was a bore............only Kate left

FACT...........Kate's family voted several million times. Nobody else in the country voted for her

FACT.........Davina sent subliminal messages to the tabloid-fodder to vote for Kate by wearing a necklace that said YESSSSS!! on it. Of course they were too stupid to notice, which is why only her family voted for her

FACT.........Alex was the REAL winner

FACT........The Angels are omnipotent, omnipresent and omniscient

You are of course correct. Since BB3 we have witnessed the quality of Endemol's editing and the degree to which the show can be manupulated ...... The final vote in Teen BB comes to mind as well as the portrayal of Jon & Lisa in BB4. Then there was the method by which Cameron was 'selected' to go the BB Africa House and much more.

But, it all started with BB3 and all that pro-Kate editing. Those of us with the live feeds saw the other side of Kate. The true, nasty, jealous and spiteful side.

For example the bullying of Sophie has always been blamed on Jade but Kate was in on it to. However, all they showed on the edited highlights was Kate being nice to Sophie. Kate's cruelty to Jade was edited out, the name calling and the abuse was never shown on the edited highlights. Instead they would rather show Kate crying crocodile tears in the diary room over some non issue or another.

Let's not forget Kate's awful bullying. Not much was made of Kate holding Jade's hands down whilst her evil accomplice, Jonny, removed Jade's clothes. Kate ignored Jade's pleas for her to stop. Or Kate's part in the bullying of Alex by Spencer, Jonny and PJ. The edited programme didn't show Endemol's favourite HM behaving as little more than a homophobe. But they repeatedly showed the nice Kate crying when Alison was evicted. And how false was that .... Kate had forgotten all about her mate a few days later.

Then Kate's flirting with nearly all the HMs was not shown on C4. Oh no, it wouldn't do to show the winner-in-waiting acting in such a cheap way. Yet we saw Kate continuosly manipulating events by flirting with Spencer, Alex, Adele, PJ, Lee, Jonny and Tim.

Kate's drunkeness was kept well hidden until after the final vote and so on. Do I need to go on ?

Thankfully once Kate had left the BB3 House and the protection of Endemol & C4, the public began to see her in her true colours. It is for this reason that she failed, both at Capital Radio and on C4's SU:NK breakfast show.

Spencer lost because he was a total bore and all round loser. The guy is a total fool. Look at the way Lawler used and abused him.

As for the editing, well everything possible was done to show Spencer in a good light and poor Alex in a bad light. Why? Because they wanted Kate's latest bloke to stay in the BB3 House in the hope that they might get it together. Spencer had a lucky escape.

Substitute the name Alex for Spencer and the post still makes a good point!
