lol how cruel to put it on wheels? It was hard enough to control before.

Interesting that Robin and Jason said they thought Hayley's performance didn't look as good on tv as it did in the studio.

Just imagine how brilliant it was in the studio

How would he know?

Presumably he was there in the studio; and then watching it on tv also means watching it again. So how does he distinguish between it not looking as good the second time and it not looking as good on tv?

According to the Radio Times we were supposed to go behind the scenes for a week in the life of Karen Barber!

I'm assuming because they both know their own minds and can tell the difference between something not looking good on a second viewing and some of its dynamism not coming across on TV.

He's just probably trying to rub it in that we mere mortals didn't get as good a view of the dance as he did

(Didn't bother to watch DOI Friday this week, I'm just guessing what went on from the comments here)

Taking a wild stab at this, and saying... having done the same thing for hundreds of performances over the last five years, they have somehow learned to tell the difference.

I found this week's show slightly more tolerable than usual. I liked the discussion about how Hayley's performance compares to previous performances on each series, and it's always good when they have Robin on, he's great at articulating his point.

I thought it was odd though when Chris said one of best props performances was Ray's hat one. If I remember correctly that was considered one of Ray's weakest performances and he got slaughtered for it by the judges, particularly as the hat ended up back to front...

I loved it when he said that

Just watched this. Even the presence of the lovely Mr Bracken could not tempt me to watch this live knowing that Coleen was going on the ice again - had to have the ability to fast forward.

Still wish Kyran was skating on tour but think he will make a good judge - how damning were his comments about Gaynor LOL?

Interesting comments about Hayley's performance live vs TV from Robin. Although Ray was undeniably a good skater I was never really totally wowed by any of his routines last year. However, when I saw Rock around the Clock on tour I could really appreciate how fantastic it was.

I was like that with Clare's Since U Been Gone, I liked it on the show but it completely blew me away when I saw it live.

I am hoping to see it if it becomes available on IPlayer which it isn't. Stupid ITV!!

How, by knowing their own minds, can they do it?

How would they distinguish between some of its dynamism not coming across on tv and it seeming less dynamic when watched for the second time? It's not like they can watch it again live to see if the dynamism returns.

Remember that no one ever does it the other way around. No one ever watches something first on tv and then sees that very same performance live.

"Each Friday at 8pm, Ben Shephard and 2009 semi-finalist Coleen Nolan will be bringing us all the latest show news as they spy on our celebs in training"

I still go at the thought of Coleen as a semi-finalist.
