Flamboyant, loud and at times repellently rude, you cannot ignore Jason Gardiner.
The 38- year-old dancer and choreographer has been on the panel since the first series in 2006.
He is widely disliked by the other judges for his knack of hogging the limelight and the air time. 'Everyone loathes him, he really is extremely irritating,' says a source.
I'm told that even new judge Emma Bunton, who is pretty saintly, is fed up with him now.
Gardiner has always liked to shock, but he caused uproar last month when he told celeb skater Sharron Davies she looked like 'faecal matter'.
Karen Barber says: 'There's a line and sometimes it gets crossed, especially by Jason.'
For his part, Jason admits that he has clashed with all the judges, particularly Nicky Slater. 'He does blabber on,' complains Jason. 'Witter, witter.'
The only exception to this fractious atmosphere is the relationship between Jason and Robin Cousins, whom he admires.
'For me he's more accomplished than Christopher Dean.' says Gardiner.
Only he could give a compliment and insult a colleague at the same time.
