This could be doomed form the start
Hello long story short i had my own place which i had bt vision and the box ,lost my place moved home to father place he's on another broadband , i know you got to use bt broadband line to use the vision but has any one unlocked the box just to use the epg for freeview a yes ( and how ) or no answer will do as some of you will just shout at me and call me a twit thanks

from what i've read the epg and recordings list are not actually kept on the machine but are on bt's servers so unlocking it wouldnt work

Everytime you plug it in and turn it on, the box looks for Bt's Software. Whilst, in theory you could/can download the software and then disconnent the broadband ethernet cable. There would be no updated TV listings and the moment the box re-booted, it wouldn't turn back on.
I'd get a new Freeview+/DVR/PVR box. If your happy to go without OD through your "Set top" box a lot of them have pretty big Hard Disk Drives now (250 hours). Off topic, Anyone seen the 1TB spec for the new Sky+ box. Not a subscriber but 720 hours is "insane". ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thank you I see now I won't be able to use it ,oh well Ill just have to wait till I get my own place again
