It would be a great shame for any of the other skaters to go out tonight, but it appears that thew judge's have chosen their favourite and, even if she's in the skate off, she'll stil be safe.
Hayley and Daniel's roiutine was superb, very elegant and controlled, but because it wasn't as explosive as last week's routine, Emma 'clueless' Bunton thought it 'lacked something'. Maybe she thought they should have had a bike on the ice, too. Then they could do the whole Butch and Sundance routine, and she might have been satisfied!”

I find it quite amusing that she found Hayley routine to be lacking yet Daniella's routine definitely lacked any skating.

I though Daniella overmarked for reasons given by others - virtually no time spent on the ice; that wasn't her fault it was down to the choreography, but incorporating the chair into the routine is one thing - but it was meant to be a prop, not the star of show.

I'm sure you know I'm right. I don't like the unfairness of it all (and I like all of the contestants.).

Danny and Kieron were amazing, Kieron should have had higher marks.”

Interestingly though Clare has a big high lasoo jump around andrei and Suzanne has a big flip jump over Matt's head and a handstand added to their routines and Suzanne was doing a reduced routine due to injury at the time . Daniella can't do that degree of difficulty/athleticism. Who knows what they could have added for Hayley?

Yes I do agreee with this.

As so often, we are in complete agreement.

I agree with most of what you say, though I think you are pushing it a bit to say Hayley and Daniel's routine was "superb".
I thought they "played safe"..they were still good but decided to do just enough this week.

I almost screamed at the TV. She has been fairly shaky compared to the others when she skates alone.

There is a definite hesitancy in her skating that the others have pretty much overcome now. So she sat in a chair and got stupidly high marks.

Let's not forget, Jason and Emma mark performance - Robin, Nicky and Karen are supposed to be marking skating. And Daniella barely did any.

But it is clear she has been a darling of the judges for a while now, when others have skated noticeably better.

edit: I think it was only last week that Jason was berating Mikey for not doing enough with only four weeks left.

Well their routine was perfectly in keeping with the music. It was charming, fun and controlled without being spectacular. I stand by what I said.

More a case of being spun out and given poor routines for weeks and now being given a decent routine and high marks so she stays in. Random, a cunning plan, a revision of a cunning plan?

I thought she should have had 6.0's. If it wasn't for the judges saving their 6.0's for Hayley she would probably have got them too.

I thought it was a terrible routine this week which showed off her acting skills and nothing else.

I like Daniella but I could not believe those marks. I was sure she was going to be marked right down for hardly touching the ice.

And it looked to me as if Hayley and Dan had been told to pull it right back. No way was that the best routine they could have managed.

Danielle spent more time sitting on that chair than actually on the ice. Quite shocking really when other contestants have had to work extremely hard on their performances.

But good enough in that way to please the judges and enough of the voters. I don't know how you mark that compared to any of the boys when they are all doing what they have been given - its acting v moving v twirling. I just think you needed more content to come first.

I loved it....I thouht it was the best routine tonight. There wasn't much skating though no, I would have given it 23 objectively but I loved it so much deep down I was glad it got those marks. I know it didn't deserve them skating wise.

Robin did say at the start that this week was about interacting with the prop more than skating.

He also said the skating would take the back seat - he was quite right there. It was the seat that did most of the moving over the ice.

It was a total fix so they wouldn't be left with just one girl in the competition, although I don't know why, they've often ended up with more girls than boys.

So what exactly do you suggest she should have been doing with the prop? They could hardly have been picking it up and chucking it to each other like the others could do with a cane, microphone stand, hat or umbrella could she.

I just thought it was obvious they wanted Danny gone and I was right.

If they just wanted Danny gone, why did they place him 3rd instead of last?

She did no skating whatsoever - she just sat in the chair. I despair of these judges, (and also the choreograpy which sat her in the chair for the whole performance), in my opinion she was the one who did the least skating and she should have been the one to go home this week.

Because he isn't popular with the public and they know that surely?

But the prop was the required element. What do you supposed to do with a chair, if not sit on it!
