Agreed - I would far rather have seen her skate to the BJ Thomas version.

I just found the routine rather uninspired tbh (but whisper it quiet - I'm starting to feel all the routines are a bit samey, I think T&D are starting to show their age )

I think the routine was just a bit sweet and unexciting, particularly compared to her routine last week and some of the other routines this week. She skated it very well, but there was only so much she could do with it.

I think ITV bosses have had a word to try and solve the "fix" allegations so they gave Hayley really simple and boring choreography so they could justify giving her a lower score.

Hayley did the best she could with what she was given. Why she was given such a simple piece by T&D is the question. Plus Emma's rubbish comments made me immediately think they want and need someone else to top the LB.

to be honest it was really quite forgetable, in fact I would say rarther dull

This week all the rest seem to have uppped their game , Daniella after a couple of weeks where she seemed to have gone a bit backwards gave a very memorable performance ( albeit with little actual skating)

I even thought Gary showed some performanace skill !!!!

I it was always gonig to be difficult to decide who should have gone home this week and in Danny perhaps the right person went home

I suspect it is a given that Haley will win the competion and on skating abilty alone perhaps it is right that she does so

If she produces something as meorable and outstanding as last week then I would be happy for her to do so , but based on this weeks performance I would rather someone who gave a moe memorable performance win !!

Totally the song was boring there would have been nothing major they could have done with that.

I have never been a fan of props week ever I see it totally pointless I would much rather see a few freestyle weeks for a future series I think it would help the situation all around and give the show a much needed refresh.

I must admit I was frustrated by Emma saying it needed to be more spectaclar. I thought it was a lovely performance (my friend said he completely melted after it) but the song itself is NOT spectacular, and to make something 'spectacular' would be completely out of character for the piece. So it seems it was fine to mark down Hayley for something not out of her control, but not to do the same for some of the others.

I'm not Hayley's biggest fan but I felt her music was a big let down. She performed really well considering how boring and uninspiring the song was. I don't know what else the girl could have done with it.

Emma really irritated me with her comments.

I liked her a lot better this week, it was nice to take it down a notch and seem less in my face.

Whenever I've heard that song I've always felt it was really dull and dated, and the version they used for Hayley seemed even more low-key than others. Because of this, it was difficult for them to produce any WOW factor in the routine, especially after last weeks' fast and exciting routine. Interesting that the skaters on the panel awarded 5.5 so clearly appreciated the skating value, while the others gave 5.0s.

Having said all that, I thought it was very endearing.

lovely skate from hayley but the music did let it down, especially after last weeks spectacular jai ho routine

It was slow and cheesey and highlighted her limitations. She couldn't be showy to make it more of a crowd pleaser. Others have had to do the same, so I don't think she can have any complaints.

It was quite bad though that while she threw the umbrella to Dan to catch whilst skating along side of him, he had to actually place it in her hands.

It was okay, it wasn't brilliant and she looked gutted afterwards.

I think it was always going to be a let down after such an amazing routine last week.

Leaving skating merits aside, it was a far less crowd-pleasing routine than Daniella's, Danny's and Keiron's, which all had plenty of humour and character for them to get their teeth into.
Hayley's routine was nicely skated but wasn't going to attract any new voters to her, unlike last week's.
That's said, Daniella had a fairly duff routine (Grease) last week that was unlikely to attract votes over the more flamboyant Jai Ho. If their routines had been reversed, I wonder which of the two women would have scored higher? I think Hayley is the better overall performer, especially as a dancer, while Daniella brings more character and comedy to her routines given the chance. I can't imagine Hayley nailing this week's sexy secretary routine as well as Daniella did.
What I'd really like to see is a prop and lift-free week where all the contestants just have to skate a lot. Just because a contestant is in a chair or being carried doesn't mean they're incapable of skating, and that's what I'd prefer to see. That said, I think Danniella's routine was the most entertaining of the night, she did everything asked of her and performed it excellently.

She did the best she could do with what she was given. She is given her choreography and music by Torvil and Dean. Remember the public outcry when Sharron Davies dared to choose her own music and routine.

If they'd given her a more upbeat song such as It's raining men or Singing in the Rain I'm sure the routine would have been more exciting.

I think the music was ok, but perhaps a little cliched - I mean, think umbrella prop, what do you think of? - 2 things, Singing in the Rain and Rihanna's Umbrella..... to choose either would be a little uninspired.
However, given that inspiration was a little lacking, the routine was nevertheless pretty enough.
I think Robin was right in his assessment, not perhaps a routine designed to show off the wow factor, but very well executed.
I think it's clear that on DoI, the crowd pleasing style of a routine will do better than one which has as much or more quality but which is less exciting.
I think that by this stage of the competition, with only 5 couples left, there is very little excuse for an uninspired routine. There is a lot more time to devote to each couple and their strengths and weaknesses in skating and dancing should be well known and worked with, whilst at the same time ensuring each competitor is stretched.

One of the best dances I've ever seen on Strictly was to Here Comes The Rain Again by the Eurythmics.

Now that would be a little more interesting choice!

Actually, I think Why Does It Always Rain On Me? by Travis would have suited the smiley, upbeat Hayley best. Ah well, there's always next year...

That would work too, although I can imagine she'd end up with accusations of a somewhat cheesier routine to that. I think the style and the change of pace of the Eurythmics track might prevent limit the temptation for T&D to go with a cheesy routine.

Their opening number with the hats wasn't perfect, Jane seemed to be lagging behind Chris or was that my imagination? No wonder poor old Danny had trouble if even T&D struggled!

I think after Jai Ho anything she did this week was likely to be an anti-climax, however I think the music was too sickly sweet.

I know this is probably herasy but I think Chris and Jayne have not been at their best with the routines this series.

well isn't tat the whole point , given exciting choreography she gives a exciting performanace , given dull choreography , she is dull ,

Wouldn't a reall champoin produce something out of nothing , it really was dull , with no spark of life and if she really was the whole package we wouldn't be having this conversation

I actually think no one of this last season has the whooel package , Hayley is without doubt an excellant skater and produced the best routine so far , but seems to have struggled to get a lot of peoples support behind her due to a number of different factors

For me there is a cheesiness to some of her performances that is off putting

Contrast this say with Keiron Braken , who I always felt was having great fun and managed to share that sense of fun with me

To be fair, I don't think she has complained - it's just us!!
