foxsat multiple failed recordings
snowslider
15-03-2010
I left my foxsat HDR plugged in and powered up while I was away for a month or so and on returning today it's really messed up recording stuff.

When I got in today I just used edit mode to clear a bunch of stuff I knew I didn't want like old soaps and so on but when I came to look for the ones I did want they're just not there.

Some good examples would be QI-XL and Heroes, Heroes was only on last night and while a couple of older episodes got recorded the one last night didn't.

I didn't really take note of the soaps dates but thinking about it there weren't really enough episodes there either. It's as though for the first three weeks or so I wasn't here recordings were all OK then they just stopped.

It's pretty likely in that time that the dish got covered with snow but there's no actual failed recordings at all, they just didn't happen. Looking at the schedule some of the entries have just plain gone, for example the soaps weren't scheduled anymore and others show as the last recording date despite having missed a couple of weeks.

The disk wasn't even nearly full, only 40%, so what happened? Does the foxsat need to be completely turned on every few days?

If you had a power cut while the hdr was in sby then no further recordings will take place until you manually boot the box. (The clock stops).
