I'm guessing the Leona Lewis cover of Run originally by Snow Patrol.

I love this song too, Leona's version would be brilliant but I also like snow Patrol too.

I hope it's not Leona. It's been used already.

How can it be Leona if it is sung by a very famous and popular band? Or was the original sung by a very famous and popular band? I assume it could be a Westlife (they are the kings of covering, and at a stretch could be considered very famous and popular).

Yeah that's what I was thinking. Which one is it?

It really could be anything.

Beatles - they're famous, but not sure they could be classed as very popular any more.

So who has done a cover version of a song by a very famous and popular band recently?

I don't think it would be Westlife as they usually get music sung by someone of their own sex.

God, I hope not. Great song, horrible version. I fear you may well be right, though.

Or could it be Everybody Hurts? Again, I hope not.

Actually nothing against Leona, but any of her covers are never as good as the original.

Why is there so much secrecy about the songs anyway?

Covers are rarely as good as the original - especially if you like the artist who did the original. Personnally I think Leona's Run is superior and prefer Leona's Stop Crying Your Heart Out - but I accept the latter may be because I loathe Oasis with a firey passion.

In most cases people prefer the version they heard first - so most people like Soft Cell's Tainted Love because the original wasn't very well know.

Of course some covers are just rubbish - step forward Mel B with Word Up

I'm guessing wild horses - the Susan Boyle cover of the Rolling Stones song, it seems to fit the description.

Now that's a brilliant guess, hope you're right. I'm not a fan of Susan Boyle but did like her version of Wild Horses.

Each to their own of course. I definitely preferred Snow Patrol's version, but I think that is due to personal taste, as you pointed out. Most of the time I prefer male voices to female ones, so it has nothing to do with Leona specifically.

Now I'm intrigued I never heard Mel B's Word Up. Is it really dire?
